In the panel they were referring to this piece specifically, where most of the companions are looking at the map or off into the distance while solas is laser focused on the inquisitor

but you can see it in the concept art by matt rhodes too

and in the game when you close the first rift with solas, he looks at you like this

when everyone is singing the dawn will come and he’s watching you from the shadows, staring at you intrigued

when he takes you to skyhold and you’re looking with wonder at the castle while he’s only looking at you

he really is intrigued by this mortal who against all the odds survived the magic of his anchor and carries with them the last hope of fixing his latest catastrophic mistake
