Prologue
[Screams, shouts as people awake from their beds running out of their houses. Mothers carrying their children, Warriors reaching for weapons which lies next to them, echoes of fires raging with fury from huts to huts as shadowy figures moves in-between the blaze, cutting people down with such swift speed the warriors couldn’t react. Flow of bloods pouring out into the fields from the massacre, more figures poured out from the portal as the skies shone the full moon at its peak.
The massacre was finished within the hour, and all children, mothers and fathers were killed. Bodies lay around the flaming buildings as the figures move round them devouring what they could, and leaving what they couldn’t take as spoils.
Elsewhere a startled priest awoke from his bed with shivering thoughts. Getting off his bed, he stepped out of his backyard and looked at the sky towards the north. Smoke rose from the plain with dark flames. The skies over the mountains with the moon revealing the smoke in its path to the sky, the priest stood glaring remembering the same vision he had over and over again ; the moon, the smoke, and the fire which he could barely see from the low backyard view, but still shown considerably, thanks to the moons light. Relating the vision to the prophecy which was told to all the new priests in the cathedral;
They come
With chaos awaken in their paths
With human souls for their grabs
Awaken the very existence
Of chaos itself
For the world shall shake
Lands quake
Hells misery released on the world
Aneky shall know misery
For within all
Warriors shall appear
Branded and malformed with hatred
Deepened with misery
Motivated by loss
Even tho they got harden heart
Within them lies the path to hope
Lies our destiny
For the priest thought on and hard, reciting each line with utmost care seeing the patterns within each of what will be bring forth, looking back towards the flame direction, his eyes drawing on two emerging shadows from the mountains…
Chapter 1
[Elsewhere, coming back from home, two warriors emerged from the cave of the hilltop. Bodies were covered with dust from head to toe. What lay ahead in the surroundings was never foreseen.
The first man devoured of all, stood up facing his surroundings once more, seeing what it has become tore him with grief. He looked at his surroundings, the houses, the bodies of manipulated corpse lying about, which was once filled with valiant life but now an empty vessel he spoke out]
[man1]
The demons strike again…
My world did they left for dead
An empty barren land
The very life-force did they drain dry
An empty plain land
My world…
My fortress…
Explaining it would only scratch the surface
Facing it can only pass for courage
For what it one’s was is no more
For what it one’s stand for is now the opposite
For the demons have risen
They are feeding
Leaving my world for dead
My world
Explaining it would only scratch the surface
Facing it can only pass for courage
Darkness, destruction and despair
Damages beyond repair
Even my heart do I doubt
For hatred has settled in
Plaguing me into the path of an avenger
Seeking evil for evil
What I once was is now no more
My world
Residue of fragments
Shattered and unseen hope left
O i prayed for the sun
Even one’s more
Just to shine on this pitiful world…
Shame on me and my helplessness
For the world I sworn to protect
Lies humbly at my feet
The people will also torment my soul
What can I do?
[Facing his companion whom he looked onto for comfort but found none, his face betraying his emotions of the reality of what happened, in his wrecked out he cried]
[man2]
For they awoke
They sought us
We were found
We were weighed
We were found wanting
We were devoured of life
For where is hope?
Amid this ruins
Where is Good?
Amid this chaos
For chaos has dealt his hand
Whilst the Good was left shorthand
For surely this must be but a dream
A humor on the part of Good
For we are helpless as we are
Chaos dealt his hand
All we could do was cower with despair
But do not worry AENEAS
For now we must seek God
Of what remains in this land
Of what will become of this world
[AENEAS looking at his friend in hopelessness spoke,]
ELPIS, indeed we are helpless
But our strength is not of us
For our mind is set on a cause
To be free of this torments
The demons will walk for now
But I will return
I will fight
I will destroy
I will recover what was lost to me and my people
For if Good slumbers
It shall be awaken
With the voice of my hatred which grows within me as plague
For now we must move
[stepping back in to the cave and working their way out to the other exit of the mountain, each drew silent, reflecting on the image still stained in their mind, with questions racing into their heads ‘ if we where there could we have stopped it?’, silence still as they were moving on, minutes past by which felt like hours for their minds had wondered off towards the past, towards their loved ones. Emerging from the mountain, seeing the nearest town all but lights off except from a building to the far out right seeing the lone candle moved towards it, drawn there as bees to a hive, as they approached, seeing a lone man in a robe of some sort stepping out to meet them……]
“Greetings sirs, how may I help you?“ Inquired the priest
“We seek sanctuary for the night, if thou will take us in" replied ELPIS
"If sanctuary is what you need, so be it follow me in”
Into the vast temple filled with they strolled in, lined with tiles, various forms and art craft painted on it, religious symbols, lifting their heads in an almost synchronization both ELPIS and AENEAS lifted their eyes above, eyes fixed upon the huge statue and wording inscribed upon the walls
Through another door the moved on, mixtures of lefts and right turns, various doors and leading to the unknown only known to the priests and selected few if been allowed in.
the priest lead the way, in short but smooth brisk steps, he looked old with short beard but strangely well built for a priest, likewise some of the other priests were too as they entered the dining hall.
