Good Morning... Welcome To Hell. This blog is a sideblog for translating bits and pieces of the stories and events in the King of Prism mobile game Prism Rush! Original title of the game: プリズムラッシュ!LIVE) I have also completed longer translations of the Main Story and Road to SSS events which are available on Wordpress (https://prismrushlive.wordpress.com/).
Main Story (Story that connects the first King of Prism movie with Pride the Hero)
Road to SSS (Story that connects Pride the Hero with Shiny Seven Stars) This blog is run by @lunawings. Prism Rush is a mobile game based on the anime movie series King of Prism. King of Prism is a spin off of the the anime Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live. It is about rainbow gay ice skating which is also magic. Please watch Rainbow Live. Please watch King of Prism. Even if you don't really post anymore since it doesn't get notes the post you do have are great ^w^. Thank you for being part of the fandom and translating the stories it's really cool 🌟.
You're welcome!
Sorry I left this sitting in my inbox for a while. I wasn't quite sure what to say. I hope I can be more involved again someday.
Hello ^w^ do you still post stuff about King of Prism? Or still enjoy it?
Yes and no!
This blog itself is dead as the Prism Rush game is dead.
But I recently got the DVD for Dramatic PRISM.1 and posted my thoughts on it over on my main blog:
💬 1 🔁 4 ❤️ 11 · King of Prism Dramatic PRISM.1 !! · So it's not the old days anymore, and I have significantly less to talk about not havi
While I still love King of Prism, I left Japan in 2020, therefore I no longer have access to the new movies as they are released and can no longer take part in the theater experience, which was a huge part of it for me. This took the wind from my excitement of the series.
I also did all of my old King of Prism/Prism Rush translations when I had more time on my hands and was in a generally different state of mind. Nowadays, let's say I have more going on in my life, and I'm actually working in translation which makes me less likely to want to do it for fun. Also, my King of Prism posts in general don't get as many notes as they used to so it's hard to get inspired for something that takes a lot of work on my part, when I feel like not many people will read them anyhow.
I am simultaneously both very happy and very disappointed with it.
The badges are a lot bigger than I expected! But the book is thinner...
The first thing you see when you open the book are these pages with all the prism jumps for each character. Which is AMAZING! Because even though I played Prism Rush from start to finish, there is so much art in here I've just never seen before!! WOOOOW!
...But the art is so small...
Next they have a summary of the Prism Rush main story, which is the story that connects the first movie to Pride the Hero. (Note: I've translated this in full here.) Nice.
But then you turn the page to find...
Road to SSS... IN FULL! This is AMAZING! Road to SSS was a series of events that connected Pride the Hero to SSS and was absolutely phenomenal. It was the duo story we always wanted from King of Prism and if I were to recommend you read anything from Prism Rush it would be THIS 100%. I'm so glad they preserved it here and it's no longer lost to time.
Except... that.....
I already spent like two years translating this in full already.
After this you'll find some art from Road to SSS...
Some birthday art...
Some more card art (specifically the DRs)...
And, finally, they included very, VERY brief summaries of the other events and the event KPRs and PRs. Then in the end there is an interview and that's it.
Okay so, when I heard the book was only going to be 100-something pages, I knew in my heart there wasn't going to be anything in there I hadn't translated yet. But still I held out a tiny little bit of hope. Oh well.
The cover for the Prism Rush Live anthology book has finally been revealed, featuring new artwork of all the characters! (Even the twins and Nikkanen!)
Also, the release has been delayed slightly from late September to November 3rd. As a result, preorders will stay open until September 19th (or until supplies last).
It is 7,500 yen but comes with a 16 badge (pin) set of all the characters.
Apparently they are actually, finally releasing a collection of Prism Rush matterials this September 2023! It comes with a set of 16 badges too! Preorder available through Animate for 7,500 yen until 8/21 or while supplies last.
Translator’s Notes: So, let me tell you a bit about what it was like when this event came out. It felt like a breath of fresh air after a long string of lackluster events. I had zero expectat…
A Midsummer Antarctic Expedition ~In Search of the Legendary Rainbow~ (A Prism Rush Event Translation)
Hooray it’s finished already! I always knew I had to translate this one because, not only is it the final event, but it’s the last appearance of Ukyo and Sakyo Amamoto to date. So I feel I owe it to them. Not to mention it’s really short anyway.
Translator’s Notes: So once again in translating one of these events, I was faced with the task of choosing whether to present it more or less as written, or to edit it into chronological ord…
Take Me Out to the Hot Springs, a Prism Rush Event Translation
And I’m back with yet another Prism Rush translation from beyond the grave! I really wanted to post this one to commemorate the final PriZoom, since it just happens to be an event inspired by Kouji which heavily features Leo, Shin, and Minato. Sadly that did not work out, but nevertheless, better late than never as I’m very happy to FINALLY check this one off. It’s been on my personal list for a looooong time.
I didn’t realize that Alexander had an R story in the survival event. I was the one who screencapped/recorded it so it’s completely on me. It’s just that with the large majority of events the R stories have absolutely nothing new in them and don’t matter at all. It’s only in the VERY FIRST few events that they actually did matter and in the mess that was screencapping this game until the very last minute I didn’t notice. So unless someone out there happened to screencap or record it, it’s out in the void.
But after analyzing my own translation (the only time I’ve read the event all together) I came to the conclusion that Alexander probably either
a.) caused the blackout somehow, b.) had a dance battle with the bear to make her hungry or c.) maybe both haha
Translator’s Notes: Back to the past again we go. First released in fall 2017, shortly after Pride the Hero premiered in theaters, was the very first event to be featured on the Prism Rush ap…
A Prism Rush Event Translation: Exciting Survival Camp
This is another event that I have a special attachment to. Partially because it took me so long to be able to actually read it. In the early days of Prism Rush you couldn’t unlock the epilogue to any event without obtaining at least one of the cards, which left me stuck on the prologue for months and months. Then, finally, I got Shin’s SR which left me with more questions than answers. It took until the app closed and all the other card stories were unlocked for me to finally piece everything together after THREE YEARS. And here it is. A full translation of Prism Rush’s very first event!
So this is several months delayed but uh… how did you guys like Prism Kingdom? Did anybody read it? If so, did you prefer the original uncut version or the chronological version I chopped together? (Or if you only read one version, which did you read?)
The reason I’m asking is because Exciting Survival Camp is structured in the exact same way, but with significantly less plot threads. So I’d like to make only one version this time when I get around to working on it. I’m curious which one folks might prefer.
I am more interested in the answer to this question now that I (freaking finally I know) have a full draft.
But I’m pretty sure I’m going to go with an uncut version. Like I said above there are significantly less plot threads. And I also don’t want to go overboard editing it if not that many people have an opinion.
