The new "potentially mature content" label put on basically every single photo of a women's body on here is pmo like crazy. I'm so goddamn sick of the fact that we all have to walk on eggshells in regards to the female form, because some idiots head will explode if he sees a nipple. Most of my photography isn't even NUDE and yet its still getting censored. There is also such a gross double standard when it comes to women's bodies vs men. I follow a lot of gay male photographers (who I love) and they post whatever they want: dick outlines and guys fully nude, TONS of dude butts, bushes etc. But if I post a woman in a BIKINI nowhere near as explicit, it's censored/taken down/warning blah blah. I know this issue isn't new. Almost every photographer/model I know who shoots in anything less than a beekeepers suit has this issue. But I can't get my head around how it is still this puritan and regressive in 2025.
Also since I'm in a rage over this I'm gonna make it political. I love how highly sexualized images of the female body are totally fine when it's used in marketing. If our body is being utilized to sell you clothes, movies, music, perfume etc. Then it's fine. But if we are posting ourselves (or models) nude/semi nude for the sake of art or just self expression, then its not ok. Then it's "potentially mature content."
