"Where will your feet take you today?" One of the questions i'd ask myself first thing in the morning. For most of my friends and probably also my instagram followers, would usually go "lagawan sa imo no?" (You're all over the place) probably linked to the fact that my aunt has adhd and it probably rubbed off me because i can't seem to stay down. My grandma (she takes care of me at home) usually goes, where are you going today you're always not home! Where do you get the money to always go out! I just laugh, shrug and tell her well unlike my brothers I could get around the city not riding the taxi. You gotta love living in a city with a lot to see no? I really really love Bacolod city!
"The cray's weekend getaway!" Photoset number two: Location: Nueva Valencia, Dolores, Guimaras.
"The crays weekend getaway!" Photo set number one: Location: Nueva Valencia, Dolores, Guimaras. So my good friends Matt and Mike decided to go to a neighboring island called Guimaras for the weekend and we weren’t expecting much from this place until we went exploring and boy oh boy we were damn wrong! Getting there took us roughly an hour and a half (if you include getting to the resort it’s around two hours) via fastcraft from bacolod city to ilo ilo to guimaras. The place may look like an ordinary small town until we reached the beach area. Jaw dropping rock formations that were similar to that of palawan’s, teal-ish blue waters that’d reflect the bright sun towards our faces, and the whole beach resort being completely empty and all for us made the money worth it. Although the resort we stayed in wasn’t that great we were greeted by a priceless view that would make our vacation totally “sulit” but eh, why complain when you set foot on that beach you could really say that this place is beyond beautiful. Enough talk about the small stuff why go to a beach resort and not swim in it “amirite?” Apparently the town of dolores is teeming with marine life that would make any scuba enthusiasts, snorkelers and the like go gaga! The resort was even really really close to a barrier reef! I myself couldn’t hold my “geekgasm” when i spotted a moon jellyfish (scientifically known as aurelia aurita). The coral reefs were just an awe striking moment when i saw goniopora, acropora and the biggest brain coral I have ever seen, sebae “nems” to my left, cardinalfishes to my right it was just a sea geek galore for me. Every time I gasp for air I let out this squeal of excitement seeing all those corals and fishes! Man i wish i had an underwater camera to document all those to show to you guys! Take my tip; Guimaras is truly, more than the land of mangoes.
no offense but I’m a blessing to this earth
"Kaon ta!" That's a typical and generic term to say that you want to eat in my local dialect, it translates to "kain tayo" in tagalog and "let's eat" in english. Why am i writing a post about this magical statement is probably running through your head right now, well its those two words i never say no to EVER!!! coming from a skinny guy i find it hard to maintain my weight and i could lose close to ten kilograms within one week (with regular exercise ha?) some find it a blessing to me its a curse. Despite all my busy schedule i always find time to eat! Morning? Eat, afternoon? Eat, evening? Eat, stressed? Eat, happy? Eat! My love for food is boundless and infinite, no one could ever compare my love for food! "Te stef? Ano gina hulat pa da nimo? Kaon ta ☺️" -Nonna's kitchen, chicken nonno
Ninth of february marks the opening of the intramurals and welp, today was a pretty long day my stressful so far after that “bruha” (negrosanon slang/ insult for an evil woman or witch for short) scolded me for being late and when i would tell her my reason she just goes “you never run out of reasons do you?” Well fyi i was telling the truth and that matters to me I’m just going to work my ass off today and I am going to make this week my week. I will get through this week smiling and laughing not only at that evil reincarnate but also to all my stress away woohoo! I’m gonna stop complaining and talk about the powder, so on the fourteenth of february my school will celebrate the closing party of the intramurals for this year and the theme for it, is a powder party but what really flabbergasted me the most is the fact that it is going to happen at night/ late afternoon and not in the morning (how could you see the powder?) . But since i’m not a big fan of powders nor parties i’d rather stay secluded and sit this one out. Oh well there’s always going to be next time i could also have fun by myself naman too hahaha #medyolaonsicrazygago
You know what makes my day complete? Earl grey tea, fruits, purple stuff and motha focking sunsets. Well the baristas were extra nice to mike and I yesterday (they were nicer to me though. Peace bruh, i know you're reading this I'm just teasing!) you gotta love the friendliest starbucks baristas in the country! No bias at all they are the best as in down right best baristas i have ever encountered! Post hanging to sbux we went grocery shopping to get some "pika pika" and a little bit of cheap alcohol. ( cause we low ballers roll that way yo,) we ended up getting beef bakareta (idk what this is i remember the name tho lol), lumpia shanghai, some strawberries, pulpy sunkist and white rum! After grocery; my friend mike took me to his secret spot "the sunset point" and damn, damn damn hot diggity damn i only had two words for it peaceful and beautiful. Everything the sun touched had a gold, vermilion-esque color that almost made my jaw drop straight to the ground (i sound like i'm over exaggerating no? Oh well hahaha) we exchange words and laugh at the past memories we had, waited till sunset and left the place because it got too dark na. What an afternoon that was.
So what i did in school yesterday was prepare for this powder party (similar to the holi festival in india) and hot damn never did i ever have fun doing school work! We need to finish one sack for each color and my ocd kicks in after they mixed two different shades of blue and pink. oh well papel! At least i helped!
Roadtrip to manapla with michaelsquirt and his brother! Never had this much fun in ages! Life is truly beautiful especially when you have fun!
Roli's, located at Lopue's Mandalagan, Lopue's East and Roli's arcade at La Salle avenue here in Bacolod city specializes in classic and authentic Negrense cuisine. Their batchoy (pictured above) would be my go to choice any day weather cold or warm, the broth entices the inner kid in you kinda reminds me of the days when i was a wee lad and my gran gran would take me out on these "dates" and get me a bowl of this and we would share it. Personal stories aside, The batchoy and the other dishes are good but what makes Roli's what it is now is the Bacolod famous napoleones (a flaky, custard cream filled dessert topped with this sweet sugary topping) and their pancit palabok! So if you're in town looking for "pasalubong" you could never go wrong choosing Roli's. It existed even in during "tiempo de campo" as our grandparents would call it. Roli's couldn't get as classic as it is!
Fresh start, Located at Robinson's city walk here in bacolod and The district northpoint in talisay offers a wide variety of organic and healthy foods. The chicken quesadilla and cacao latte (pictured above) are my personal favorites in this restaurant. Not only do they serve food and beverages but also sell organic local delicacies (such as the piaya) and organic products. The place (and the stuff being sold there) might come at a hefty price but hey! You could never go wrong going organic and healthy, after all health is wealth.
When in cebu... So i told myself that i wanted to start my year right and happy post meeting the best thing that happened to my life, my best friend the michaelsquirt, i wanted to go to cebu during sinulog season with him after hearing that he will also be there.. We were so excited for a month we kept on telling each other to not drink too much and use it all up once we're in cebu na, (grabe) the day of the biggest party comes we were in bed due to exhaustion after what we did earlier that day. We took a power nap and we really fell asleep! Tonginah i wake up five minutes earlier before our alarm that we set to ring within forty minutes after a bad dream of falling. I wake mike up after waking up both of us seem exhausted and didn't want to party anymore so we slept it off! We called our friend who was also tired and didn't want to party and slept! Needless to say it was worth missing i'd rather sleep than to go out of that paint splattering sweaty pit of doom.
