currently obsessed with this taxidermied great white that was left to gather dust in an abandoned display in a park in australia. something about it is so simultaneously eerie and melancholy to me

OK SO HOLY SHIT IM PRETTY SURE I LIVE NEAR THIS. it’s at a park in the middle of nowhere called wildlife wonderland but we used to call it the giant worm because….. it was shaped like a giant earthworm. my dad used to take us there almost every weekend. there were like interactive worm activities like crawling in dirt mazes, learning about worms and there were some animals?? and at the back of the worm there was this god damn shark in a dark ass room.

the story was iirc that they pulled a sheep out of it’s stomach when they were looking for a missing sailor.

ok but it gets weirder right!!!!

the place shut down a few years ago because the owner didn’t have his license for the animals he had in the park. apparently everyone in town came knocking at his door several times with the forms to fill in to get the license but he would lock the doors and hide. i also heard some rumours about tax fraud or something too,,,

ANYWAY so now there is an abandoned giant earthworm in the middle of the australian farmland with a taxidermied shark inside.
