It was brought to my attention tonight, by one of my close friends and regular players, that WotC has scheduled the entirety of D&D D&D Celebration to fall within Rosh Hashanah, one of the two holiest day in Judaism.
For a company that's been having, shall we say, Issues, with inclusivity lately, this is, at best, a Massive Oversight, and at worst, deliberately antisemitic.
For those unaware, it is forbidden, on Rosh Hashanah, to engage in labor or "mundane activities," and instead one should focus on spiritual pursuits. Because of this, our more observant Jewish friends are being excluded from what should be a celebration of a game open to everyone.
To that end, if you can, please, contact Wizards, and let them know how wrong this is. If we've learned anything this year, it's that we all need to look out for everyone, and that most thi gs can be rescheduled.
Thanks for your time.
