Owen was in the middle of his routine midnight jog when he saw someone lingering outside what was left of the school. Slowing his pace he tried to see who it was, before coming to stop as he recognised the brunette. The male approached her with a friendly smile. “Hey, you alright?” He asked wondering how she was feeling. The last time he had seen her was when he had helped her out of the burning building. “I was just asking how you are.” He replied with a smile. “I like it out here at this time of night. It’s eerily silent but in a good way. What brings you out here?”
Lexi recognised him immediately as the man she’d met in the burning building not too far ahead of them. “I’m fine.” She replied quickly after he repeated himself, returning his smile. “How are you?” She asked, head tilting to the side slightly in genuine curiosity. A knowing smile pulled further on her lips as he explained what brought him out so late in the night. “I like the quiet, too.” Lexi had long ago found that the same places that were bustling with crowds in the daytime, were practically a graveyard by nighttime. It was perfect when you needed somewhere to gather muse. “It helps me think a little better.” The brunette admitted. “And play a little more coherently.” She shrugged the shoulder that held the guitar strap and a barely audible chuckle left her lips.
