You guys think DaD!Thomas was so so happy to finally talk to others after getting into college just to realize his classmates look at him weirdly everytime he stutters?? Do you think they care enough to teach him about social cues?? All his life he probably never talked to others, and now that he can finally make friends, they avoid him?? You think that's why he was so attached to his teacher? Because he never had a parental figure nor did someone ever talk as gently to him as his teacher had?

DaD!Thomas is canonically neglected by his parents and at the same time isolated from the rest of the world and when he finally went to whatever college was for him, it was only like five people including his teacher and he was apparently dubbed as the class clown. Mr. Flux really was his first friend ever. Paradise City probably stored a lot of Thomas's first evers. Too bad it got nuked
