There was a long moment where Jacob just stared into Charlie.
Jacob had always wondered how they’d managed to form such an acquaintanceship since his beginnings at the university. They were in different departments, and Mr. Myers wasn’t even a full-time professor. Yet somehow they’d always caught each other in break rooms, hallways, gatherings of professors and speakers. Charlie was always charming and upbeat, Jacob was coy and seemingly disinterested. Yet their work relationship always seemed to flourish. Perhaps it was fate? The dreamy eyed alpha pondered this as he stared in the silence at the omega. “Mm, I see…”
There was an unspoken awareness in Jacob’s eyes, and he actually even stepped closer without realizing it before blinking and taking a step back. He could smell the signs of a heat wafting off of Charlie’s body like a fresh warm dessert. His pheromones were strong, even for an omega, and the sensitive alpha who’d already suspected a rut in the distant horizon was having a hard time staying focused on anything other than the omega’s delicate skin, green eyes, enticing body, and his scent.
“It’s… probably best I don’t keep you then, Mr. Myers…”
