Though perhaps they are not the most popular ship on the island (something I don't understand given how much Russell and Dawn adored the pairing), this blog is dedicated to these two characters. Some of the other castaways might pop up from time to time, though :)

Bob Denver, Tina Louise, Russell Johnson, Alan Hale Jr., Dawn Wells, Jim Backus, and Natalie Schafer in the Gilligan's Island episode entitled Up at Bat, originally broadcast by CBS on September 12th, 1966. A dream sequence spawned after Gilligan gets bit by a bat and erroneously concludes he's going to turn into a vampire, this sequence managed to spoof Dracula movies, the Sherlock Holmes franchise, and the Batman TV series all at once.

Watched the Christmas episode of Gilligan’s Island. Santa was played by Alan Hale Jr., the same guy that played the Skipper.

The fact that the castaways don’t realize they’ve met actual Santa until he leaves because they think he’s the Skipper is probably one of my favourite gags in the show.

Also shoutout to that bit where Gilligan wrestles a shark and wins.

Fun fact: The Mosquitos are the folk group, The Wellingtons. “The Ballad of Gilligan’s Isle”, written by Stewart Schwartz and and George Wyle, had 2 versions. The first season version with the lyrics “and the rest” was recorded by The Wellingtons.
