Hi ! Just letting you know that in all honesty, everything (including writing) has become ridiculously hard for me lately. I seem to have hit this strange and long low that is causing some severe depression-induced insomnia so I’m super fucking tired. Anyway my point is that I’m taking a couple steps back in an attempt to stabilise, meaning I’m going to be very slow. Everything is drafted and I am working on replies, just slowly, bit by bit. I haven’t forgotten what I owe. I will be hovering around however, so feel free to ask me stuff or just message me.

//Ehhh... kinda not up for drafts right now. Though I really want to mess around with android!Jayden so like for a starter with him!
howfarwouldigo:
Ethan hoped Norman wouldn’t be too bothered by his slight tardiness. Ever since rescuing Shaun, his schedule had been somewhere between hectic and calm. Admittedly, he’d been a bit caught off guard by the former agent’s request to meet up with him, but agreed nonetheless. Once he stepped into the cafe, his ocean blue eyes, ever trained to observe even the smallest, most insignificant things - a skill gained from his architectural work in years past - seemed to land on the man waving briefly at him almost instantly. “Sorry I’m late, um…is Jayden or Norman fine? I’m not sure if we’re on first-name basis yet, we haven’t spoken much since everything calmed down….” His greeting awkwardly trailed off, a hand coming up to scratch at the back of his neck nervously. He really needed to learn to stop being so anxious in front of people.
He watched the older man walk over, offering a polite smile as he apologised. At least he wasn’t the only one mildly uncomfortable in this situation. A faint shrug was given in reply. “Either’s fine.” Well, here he was; the meet-up was arranged and now they were face to face. But that was the extent of his orders, and he hadn’t really thought much further than that. Despite his knowledge of psychology he was rather dreadful at socialising - partly due to his preference for being alone, admittedly, but still. Hopefully he didn’t scare him off. “Yeah, I’ve just been really busy since everythin’ happened.” Busy tryin’ to ditch that goddamn tripto and adjustin’ to reality, he thought, but he kept that to himself. No need for Ethan to know his son’s life had been in the hands of a drug addict with a fucked-up head. “S’pose I should ask if you want anythin’; I’m payin’.”
Wisdom’s a gift, but you’d trade it for youth Age is an honor, it’s still not the truth
@howfarwouldigo gets a Resignation starter.
He was early. Ever since he quit his job at the FBI, he always seemed to be early to things. There wasn’t much else to do, after all, and without any cases to work his mind had little to focus on. Whenever he made plans, it latched on, which made him antsy. His psychiatrist, desperate to calm his busy mind, had set up some tasks for him to complete. Admittedly this felt counter-productive; his problem was that he couldn’t relax and craved something to do - he spent the entire weekend cleaning and reorganising his own apartment twice because he couldn’t bare to do nothing. But they were the doctor’s orders, and this week he’d been asked to organise a meet up with someone he got along with. And so he sat in a small cafe, foot tapping impatiently as he finished his second coffee, waiting for the sole person he could think of who might not entirely dread his company. Jayden made a brief wave when he saw the man finally arrive.
“I’m scared ‘cause the past Keeps pulling me back Distorting the future”
/ @profilerblues Liked for a lycris starter
God, how he understood what he was saying. Those sounded like words he might’ve said many years ago. But he pulled through, fixing his mistakes. The android would, too. “You can’t let it get to you, Connor. At the time it felt like they were your only choices; what matters now is movin’ on.” I’m startin’ to sound like my goddamn psychiatrist.

“The ‘now’ is always in the past, even when you speak of it in the present so I guess its already passed, now hasn’t it?” She was not going to change her mind, rather she saw his words as pointless baiting. She was too smart for that, or maybe she was just too stubborn in her ways to go back on herself. “Besides, some point implies there’s still some future yet to come, do you want me to go on agent or?”
Admittedly, she was correct. But she was being a smart arse about it. Considering their situation, there wasn’t time for her nonsense. Jayden just wanted to get her out and safe - then she could be as much of an arse as she wanted. “No, I don’t. I get your point. That’s why I said practically.” I wasn’t hard to tell he was becoming impatient. “Some point could be a matter of seconds or a matter of days; it’s not a risk I wanna take. Unless you’re tellin’ me you wanna be melted down for parts?” A moment of silence as he took a deep breath. He wasn’t going to let the stress cause him to snap. “I just wanna know you’ve got some idea of how you’re gettin’ out here. That’s all I’m askin’. We’re on the clock here.”

The Deviancy case was becoming harder and more overwhelming, the police had put an experienced lieutenant and a young detective on the case. But this still wasn’t enough, not to mention the discomfort Hank had working with androids, Connor knew it was distressing to him. The concern though at android deviancy spiralling out of control Connor and Hank were informed that Hank was to no longer go out into the field with Connor and that the detective was now to work with someone from the FBI would be detailed to work with them. It was a shame to now be separated but the FBI was going to slowly start taking over the case.
Connor made his way to The Eden Club alone, he’d received a report of a man having been killed there, there was also a deactivated Traci here, the purple lights were bright in the darkness as he walked up to the entrance, it was guarded by an officer, showing his police badge he was allowed entry. He saw numerous Tracis in perspex chambers just gazing out at him expectantly. Some were on podiums pole dancing, it was like the androids were simply carrying out their normal function, like they had not been instructed that they were closed.
A man, the owner most probably given that he was being questioned by another officer was standing there and there was another room guarded but there was one man he didn’t recognise “Excuse me Sir?” He approached him with a curious expression, he was sure this man didn’t work here his manner didn’t seem like the owner who was busy fretting about his license. This man seemed more like he was some sort of law enforcement, perhaps the FBI Agent he was now assigned to.
Yet another new case, yet another new city. Though this was an odd one: rather than one big case, he was to assist with multiple smaller cases, all of high-importance. Deviancy - a software malfunction causing androids to gain human psychological qualities - was becoming more rampant, causing an increase in android-related cases. Whether the politicians refused to adapt, Cyberlife had the government wrapped around their finger, or both - whatever it was, it meant these had to be solved through removal of any evidence of their artificial humanity. Jayden didn’t agree with this, but unfortunately it was his job. He didn’t exactly have much other choice. And so he stood in the middle of a strip club, surrounded by various androids programmed for pleasure, feeling far too old for this. He was interfacing with ARI, checking up on his instructions, when the man he was waiting for approached him. He took the glasses off out of politeness. “Connor, right? I’m Agent Norman Jayden from the FBI; I was told you’d been called in for a possible deviancy case.” Admittedly, he wasn’t supposed to start till tomorrow, but he got antsy when he wasn’t working. He figured there was no harm in helping out a little early.
