Comment on a fic with a ship you rarely read: Max/Liz? Maria/Isobel? Maria/Michael? Maria/Michael/Alex? Alex/Forrest? Alex/Kyle? Isobel/Kyle? Michael/Kyle? Note: we’re all in this fandom together and if, to pick on one of the mods, if @jocarthage submitted a bingo card (which she can’t, she’s a mod, obvs) and checked off this square for reading a malex fic, we’d be dubious and probably not count it. No way she doesn’t read Malex; she’s written like 500k of it. So go out and try something new <3.

Here’s my recs for today’s list!

Comment on a <1000 word fic: This Alex and Kyle friendship fic is lovely and gives such a good sense of place – @irolltwenties​’s “Stronger than Oak.”

Comment on a >50k word fic: @vague-shadows​ and Strangeredlantern’s “Welcome to the Black Parade” is such a good fic, with such tight, complex world-building, such stomach-twisting reality. I wasn’t able to finish it the last time through because it pinged one of my triggers (they’d warned for it properly, I was just playing trigger-chicken and lost) and it deserves all the love.

Comment on a fic with zero comments: This fic from @profitinaecho (”Look, Bucko”) is a lovely quick slice-of-life moment and also qualifies for square #1 (though each square needs to be a different fic obvs).

Comment on a fic with a ship you rarely read: I read @aokayinspace‘s lovely Forrest Long/Kyle Valenti fic “See the Boys As They Walk On By” and enjoyed it quite a bit.

Variation of “OHH NOO” / “AAAAAAHH”: I don’t want to give spoilers for @aewriting‘s delightful fake-dating holiday AU “Throw Cares Away,” but I def commented “AAAAHHHH” or something like that a few times.

I’d love to see other folks’ recs if you have them!

I am so excited to be throwing this out there!! First off, this fic is a holiday gift for @maxortecho!! She and I had a solid scream-fest over this concept back when 2x09 originally aired and I’ve been wanting to play with it ever since. And since I sat down to start it after finishing the RNMBB...like, the ideas they are flowing. I’m super excited for y’all to see where I’m taking this!
