Lol I haven't been here in 3yrs... but I had something that I was like 'hey, sex ed never taught me this and neither did any of the blogs I used to follow for this so let's go.'
Your bodies natural reaction to sex with condoms and sex without condoms will be different.
With condoms, you have spermicides and lubricants, you might have a slight reaction to this in the form of discharge and sometimes they knock off your ph and you have a yeast infection if you've been having a lot of sex. I seriously recommend getting non lubed condoms and buying your own lube if that's the case, water not oil tho. Usually it's a reaction to the silicone based lubes that are typical in your more popular condom brands.
Without condoms... there's a bigger variation.
Sperm is a separate ph, throughout your cycle your discharge levels vary, your personal amount of lubricantion may vary, your lube preferences make a difference, your diet and your medications and other hormonal contraceptives make a difference, etc.
But what I didn't know until I was a grown ass adult having unprotected sex with trusted partners, is that unprotected sex is not only far messier, but it's also different longer after having sex.
We've all heard the 'sperm can live in the vagina/cervix up to 5-7 days' but what they don't tend to teach you while telling you that is 'the ejaculation that doesn't run out in the first few hours kinda clings to your vaginal walls and becomes a little thicker and kinda slowly drips out with your normal discharge' and so the best way to not have to deal with that is to masturbate in the shower and really run your fingers everywhere to wash it off with warm water. No douching, those are a recipe for a yeast infection.
Drink extra water, you should when having sex anyway to prevent UTIs and vaginal dryness.
Also, vaginas naturally have a scent and we do get taught that, but ejaculation also does and like you know it, it's a very specific scent, but it mingles with the smell of your vagina a little bit and you do for a few days afterwards kinda just mentally go 'Oh fuck I still kinda feel like I smell of unprotected sex' because your protected sex smell lasts a little while but like the lubes wash out and the faint condom smell is gone... but like, unprotected sex is it's own ballpark.
Also, you can be allergic to your partner's ejaculation. If your partner has eaten something you're allergic to and has unprotected sex with you, it can trigger an allergic reaction sometimes. Also, sometimes a partner's ejaculation is the wrong ph for your vagina and it causes a yeast infection. My last boyfriends did that, my current one thankfully doesn't have that affect.
Some tips for unprotected sex:
When using backup birth control, be aware of the side effects and how often you should be testing for pregnancy. Also know what makes yours inactive, can't drink and fuck while on the pill but you can on the IUD, but the IUD has a higher risk of ectopic pregnancy. You really need to discuss it with your healthcare provider and ensure you're doing what is right for you. Also maybe consider a lube with spermicide in it, just to be on the safe side.
If you're trying to get pregnant or not using another method of contraception for whatever reason; congratulations and chookas! I wish you all the best and I think everything I've got going forward also applies to you.
Put down a towel. Now I say this for all sex anyway, because like it's sex, it's a little bit sweaty and messy... but if your lover ejaculates into you, your cervix doesn't just open up and swallow it, it just pools into your vagina. So when you move off the dick or sit/stand after sex, gravity is going to pull it out of you.
And it's thick and sticky, so like unless you're willing to clean it up (I also highly recommend a waterproof mattress protector under your sheets, and maybe not having dark sheets, like vaginal discharge it can have a bleaching affect over time) having underwear next to you and a towel underneath you, makes clean up a lot easier.
Also, if you're going for shower sex... get some grab rails, some anti slip mats and maybe even a shower chair. It makes everything so much easier and look sex is awkward and laughable and a good part of actually getting hot and steamy is being comfortable. So do whatever you need to be comfortable and feel secure in the shower.
And if you're going to have sex on a bench, use the towel and let it hang over the edge at least an inch and a bit, seriously, cleaning up is way easier when it's mostly laundry and a wipe and you're not on your knees scrubbing ejaculation off of walls, doors and floors.
Another good way to make clean up a little easier for you in the long run, more playing after with fingers or toys so you can orgasm and the muscles movement and the self lubrication and ejaculation methods of the vagina help move your lovers cum out a little faster (granted if you're trying to get pregnant, a few pillows underneath you so you're using gravity to hold it in and some extra play, helping relax and open the cervix and hopefully help with your conception journey. Don't forget to nourish yourself and make sex as sensual and fun as possible as often as you can because you deserve to be wooed and loved even and especially when preparing for that journey).
