Mark and Amy at the Oscars! :)
WOW a lot of you really liked my Iron Lung comic! I don’t know how feasible it would be to make a comic spanning the full movie, but I think the first 5 minutes should be doable, so that’s the goal right now. More to come soon hopefully o7
art trade with @bayardbruh (prompt was Simon w his hair up- i went a little overboard)
Ruthless, sexy middle-aged CEO Vox being all bossy with his cute-ass, stressed-out assistant, the poor Ethan.
I needed to draw this like I need AIR.
Don't tape the camera button down, buddy.
ive been thinking a lot about iron lung movie still and today i had. a horrifying thought. more iron lung spoilers below.
like. the movie went to a lot of effort to show the viewer drops of liquid coming off every surface of the sub. including when the liquid in question is just clear instead of being red and bloody. and i was very curious about the point of these environmental storytelling shots because i wanted to understand what was being hinted at. eva says it's "just condensation" but if it was "just condensation", then why would the movie go out of its way to focus on all of these tiny little drips of water running off multiple surfaces in the sub? if it's just water, it's no big deal right?
but today i realized...
that clear liquid that was dripping off everything in the beginning... it seemed a bit too thick to be just regular water condensation.
then i thought:
what if it wasn't water condensation.
what if it was fucking plasma.
what if the blood was leaking into the sub from the beginning but at first only the plasma could get in, so everyone thought it was just normal old water.
"I just wanna live, is that so wrong? Why doesn’t anybody else want that?" Iron lung (2026)
This came to me in a vision
People, for christ's sake the number of rads released by the camera noted in the manual was for the front of the camera, not for the inside of the submarine. It doesn't show, in the manual, the number of rads released inside, which was protected. It more accurately says that "the risk to the crew is minimal but it's compounded with each use. Use at your own risk."
Simon was not doomed from the first button press alone, it added up during the extent of the movie. He could have made it if they had found him sooner, if he hadn't been separated from the tow ship. And even as he was lost, using the camera still gave him a better chance of survival than not using it. It was a desperate situation, made worse by the fact he did still have a chance.
