There are several types of screen options such as - permanent screens, pull down screens, portable screens, etc. The permanent screen is usually referred to as ‘Fixed-Frame’ where the actual screen is placed within a metal or solid wooden frame.

Some of the commonly used screen material include - Blackout Cloth, Matte White Coating, Vinyl Board Tarps. Spandex etc.
Blackout Cloth is used as a screen for long lasting, flat and stable image. The matte white coating has poor levels of reflection and hence, is suitable for rooms with dim lighting. Vinyl board tarps are recommended for large projection setups and are economically appropriate. Â
Size of the projection screen is very important as it can ‘Make’ or ‘Break’ the viewing experience. A portable projector screen can work pretty well for you. The common aspect ratios that help you choose a perfect projection screen are - 16: 9 and 4 : 3. HD projectors are ideally 16: 9 while multiple media projector are 4 : 3.
