Christ in me...

We have discovered a mystery that religion could never manufacture — we are now located in Christ.

What once seemed impossible to the natural mind has been overturned by the wisdom of God. What appeared distant has been revealed as near. What felt unreachable has been unveiled as present reality. “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” — Eph 2:13 (NKJV)

Distance was never God’s desire — it was deception’s illusion.

In His infinite love, the Father corrected our wrong perception. We thought heaven was far. We thought righteousness was unattainable. We thought intimacy belonged to a select few. But the blood of Jesus silenced that lie.

The cross did not merely forgive you — it restored you. “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” — 2 Cor 5:21 (NKJV)

The blood of Jesus reveals our redeemed innocence — not naïveté, but restored identity. It announces that our authentic beginning was never in Adam’s failure but in Christ’s victory.

You, my friend, are not trying to get into Christ. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation…” — 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

You are in Him.

And more than that — He is in you. “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” — Col 1:27 (NKJV)

You are now His dwelling place — His chosen residence. “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” — 1 Cor 3:16 (NKJV)

The God who fills heaven and earth has chosen to make His home within you. Not as a visitor. Not as a tenant. But as Lord.

Let the reign of Christ be reignited within you. Let the fire that once burned brightly be stirred again — not by emotion, not by hype, but by revelation.

We do not strive to display heaven’s righteousness.

We reveal it.

Because His life is now our life. “For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” — Colossians 3:3 (NKJV)

When Christ reigns within, righteousness is not an effort — it is an overflow. The world does not need our performance; it needs His manifestation.

Let heaven be demonstrated through surrendered vessels. Let love, purity, and holy boldness become the visible evidence of an invisible Kingdom.

You are in Christ.

Christ is in you.

Now let His reign be seen.

Moral failure

There is a deep grief in watching ministries fracture because men were exalted beyond their measure.

When leaders are placed on pedestals, they begin to breathe an atmosphere that was never meant for mortal lungs. Applause intoxicates. Influence deceives. And when they fall, the wreckage is not confined to one name — the testimony of Christ is dragged through the mud because those men claimed nearness to the Father.

But hear this clearly: the problem is not Christ — it is misplaced devotion.

The word of God never told us to build platforms for men. It told us to fix our eyes on Jesus “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…” — Heb 12:2 (NKJV)

The fruit many celebrate today is not the fruit Jesus described. Crowds are not fruit. Charisma is not fruit. Expansion is not fruit. Visibility is not fruit.

Jesus said: “You will know them by their fruits.” — Matt 7:16 (NKJV)

And what is that fruit? “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” — Gal 5:22–23 (NKJV)

Character — not charisma.

Holiness — not hype.

Brokenness before God — not branding before men.

We have normalized elevation. We have grown accustomed to celebrity Christianity. A system has formed that rewards gifting more than godliness. And when gifting outruns character, collapse is only a matter of time.

The Apostle Paul warned the elders at Ephesus: “For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.” — Acts 20:29–30 (NKJV)

Notice — drawing disciples after themselves.

Any structure that centers around personalities instead of Christ is already leaning toward corruption.

Discernment has weakened in environments that feed the flesh. When people crave inspiration more than transformation, they become vulnerable to deception. The atmosphere may feel powerful, but power without purity is dangerous.

Paul wrote: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine… and they will turn their ears away from the truth.” — 2 Tim 4:3–4 (NKJV)

This is not merely about leaders failing — it is about a culture that has been conditioned to idolize them.

But there is hope.

The answer is not cynicism.

The answer is not abandoning fellowship.

The answer is not rebellion.

The answer is returning to Christ Himself.

Bypassing the machinery of religion is sometimes necessary so that we can rediscover the simplicity of devotion:

“That your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” — 1 Cor 2:5 (NKJV)

There is a place — hidden, quiet, unseen — where intimacy is restored. Where no platform exists. Where no applause follows. Where only the gaze of Jesus matters.

The Church is not sustained by personalities. It is sustained by the Head. “And He is the head of the body, the church…” — Col 1:18 (NKJV)

When we return to Him — not to systems, not to movements, not to brands — clarity returns. Discernment sharpens. Idols fall. And the fear of the Lord is restored.

Let us come back to Jesus.

Not through personalities.

Not through hype.

Not through the arm of flesh.

But through repentance, humility, and surrender.

For in His presence, the invisible influence of deception loses its grip — and truth stands radiant once again...

I declare:

As a believer, I am neither defined by conservatism nor labeled by any political affiliation. My identity is not anchored in earthly systems, ideologies, or party lines. I am a follower of Jesus Christ.

“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” — Phil 3:20 (NKJV)

I refuse to be shaped by the spirit of this age.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” — Rom 12:2 (NKJV)

I am defined by the grace and mercy of God.

“By grace you have been saved through faith… it is the gift of God.” — Eph 2:8 (NKJV)

“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.” — Lam 3:22 (NKJV)

The cross is my boast. Christ is my message. Love is my banner.

“But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ…” — Gal 6:14 (NKJV)

“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” — John 13:35 (NKJV)

I walk in the Spirit.

“Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” — Gal 5:16 (NKJV)

The fruit of the life I now have in Christ is the evidence of my obedience.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” — Gal 5:22–23 (NKJV)

I do not strive to prove my allegiance through argument, but through abiding.

“Abide in Me, and I in you… He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit.” — John 15:4–5 (NKJV)

My life is hidden with Christ in God (Col 3:3).

My standard is His Word.

My allegiance is to His Kingdom.

My identity is in Him alone.

I am not first a political being—I am a new creation. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation…” — 2 Cor 5:17 (NKJV)

I belong to Christ.

Fixing Our Eyes Beyond the Moment

Both hardship and blessing have the power to distract when we allow emotion to govern our focus. Humanity often lives from the intensity of the present moment—responding to what is felt rather than what is eternal. In doing so, we become entangled in what is temporary and lose sight of what truly sustains life.

The Word calls us higher: “While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." 2 Cor 4:18 NKJV

When our eyes drift from Jesus to circumstances, the natural realm begins to interpret reality for us. Yet the believer was never meant to live governed by emotion or momentary experience.

A transforming revelation changes everything—Christ is not merely in your life; He is your life. “When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.” Col 3:4 NKJV

To live with this understanding is to remain steady in both trial and abundance. We learn to refuse entanglement with the natural and instead anchor our hearts in Him “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.” Heb 12:2 NKJV

When Christ is your life, the temporary loses its power, and your gaze is fixed on the eternal.

What are you holding on to?

I have seen what hurt and unforgiveness can do within a relationship. Whether between a child and a parent, husband and wife, the wounds inflicted by a school bully, peers in the workplace, the local church, or through life’s harsh experiences as a whole—if these wounds are not confronted and healed, they will lead to devastating consequences in the lives of those who carry them.

Unresolved pain does not remain isolated. It grows quietly, hardening the heart, distorting perception, and shaping responses. Scripture warns us clearly: “Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled.” (Hebrews 12:15, NKJV)

We must therefore learn to forgive. Even when we were not the ones at fault, even when the wound was unjust, undeserved, or deeply personal, we are still called to forgive. Forgiveness is not an endorsement of wrongdoing; it is an act of obedience and surrender to God.

Jesus Himself makes this unmistakably clear: “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (Matthew 6:14–15, NKJV)

Forgiveness is not first about them—it is about us. When we choose to forgive, chains are broken, prisons collapse, and freedom floods the soul. What bitterness built, forgiveness dismantles. What pain reinforced, grace tears down. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me… to proclaim liberty to the captives.” (Luke 4:18, NKJV)

Holding onto past hurts will eventually become our downfall. Unforgiveness poisons relationships, clouds judgment, and slowly destroys everything it touches. What we refuse to release, we empower to rule us.

“Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. (Romans 12:19, NKJV)

Unforgiveness is a disease of the heart. It must be identified, confronted, and removed before true healing can take place. God desires truth in the inward parts, not hidden wounds masked by religious language. “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10, NKJV)

Forgiveness opens the door for restoration, peace, and the healing work of the Holy Spirit. It realigns us with heaven’s flow and positions us to walk in the freedom Christ paid for with His blood.

So I ask you plainly and prayerfully: What are you still holding on to?

Can It Be... (Part 2) But thanks be to God's

But thanks be to God, despite our failure to accurately represent His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven, the Kingdom of God has not stalled, diminished, or retreated. It advances—not by human strength, structures, or systems—but by divine authority and eternal purpose. “For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.” 1 Cor 4:20 (NKJV)

The failures of men have never nullified the faithfulness of God. Though institutions may falter, the Kingdom remains unshaken. While religious systems may crumble, the throne of God stands firm. “Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands…” 2 Tim 2:19 (NKJV)

A day is coming—and is already dawning—when what religious people have long defined as “church” will be confronted by the glorious redemptive power of Christ Himself. The Church will no longer be known by buildings, titles, or programs, but by the manifest life of Christ revealed in His people. “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Col 1:27 (NKJV)

Perceptions will change—not through persuasion, but through revelation. Holiness will no longer be a doctrine debated, but a reality displayed. The sons of God will be revealed, not in religious performance, but in divine nature and obedience. “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.” Rom 8:19 (NKJV)

This is not the rise of a new movement, but the restoration of an eternal one. Not the glorification of the Church, but the exaltation of Christ. Not man building something for God—but God reclaiming what belongs to Him. “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the LORD of hosts. Zec 4:6 (NKJV)

The Kingdom of God will advance, the light will overcome the darkness, and holiness will again be revealed—not in religious form, but in sons who walk as He walked. “As He is, so are we in this world.” 1 John 4:17 (NKJV)

Can it be (Part 1)

It will take more than a generation to heal the distorted image people now hold of the Church, because what has been presented to the world is often not the authentic Bride of Christ, but a man-made religious system. Tradition has replaced truth, form has replaced power, and image has replaced substance.

Jesus never intended for His Church to reflect the world. Yet in our pursuit of relevance, acceptance, and growth, we chose assimilation over transformation. We blended in with darkness instead of standing apart as light. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matt 5:14 (NKJV)

The world’s perception of the Kingdom of God is now damaged and skewed—not because the Kingdom has lost its glory, but because its representatives have often failed to reflect it. When salt loses its flavor, it is no longer useful. “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?” Matt 5:13 (NKJV)

The holiness of God has been diluted, redefined, and in many cases abandoned, while the finished work of the cross has been reduced to a motivational message rather than the call to repentance, death to self, and new life in Christ. “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." 1 Cor 1:18 (NKJV)

Instead of being transformed by the renewing of the mind, the Church has often been conformed to the patterns of this world, offering Christianity without Christlikeness and grace without lordship. “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Rom 12:2 (NKJV)

The institution known as “church” has too often protected its systems rather than confronting its compromises. As a result, it has done very little to correct the world’s perception of God, even while claiming to represent Him.

Yet the answer has never been rebranding, restructuring, or reinventing the Church.

The answer is repentance.

The answer is holiness restored.

The answer is Christ crucified and risen, lived out—not merely preached. “Judgment begins at the house of God.” 1 Pet 4:17 (NKJV)

Only when the Church returns to being the Church of Christ, and not the invention of man, will the light once again pierce the darkness—and the world will know that the Kingdom of God is not a concept, but a living, holy reality.

Love Is Who You Are

1 Cor 13:13 ( NKJV) “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”

In the realm of the Spirit, faith, hope, and love form a seamless unity — yet love rises above them all. Love is the superlative expression of everything faith and hope have always proclaimed to be true. Love defines our eternal identity in Christ (Mirror Bible).

We who believe in Jesus are drawn into this divine union. We become intertwined with the very love that God is — the love that has no beginning and no end, the love that remains unchanging, uncompromising, and eternal. “For God is love” (1 John 4:8), and His nature cannot be separated from His character.

Through the redemptive power of Christ, we enter the everlasting covenant, and we are clothed — draped — in the garment of true love. This love does not categorize, divide, or isolate mankind. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things (1 Cor. 13:7). It is love that carried the Cross; it is love that conquered death.

And Scripture declares with unshakable certainty: “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us… nothing shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 8:37–39 (NKJV)

Even the sinner, the rebel, and the unbeliever are objects of God’s love. “For God so loved the world…” (John 3:16). All mankind has but to embrace that love — and in that holy moment, they become partakers of the divine nature (2 Pet. 1:4). They step into the eternal flow of God’s own heart.

I become seamlessly woven into the fabric of love. Not a fleeting, emotional, human love — but the love that is God Himself. The love that speaks creation into being. The love that never fails.

From this moment on, everything I do is designed to honor Love — to honor God. There can be no distinction between the love of Christ and the love that now courses through my redeemed soul. I am not merely one who loves… I have become love.

So I conclude with this prophetic charge: To love is to extend the very heart of the Father into the earth — here, now, in every situation, and in every circumstance. I am a bondservant of love, a carrier of His nature, a living testimony of the One who first loved me.

No opposition, no resistance, no accusation can change who we are in Christ.

Show Him.

Are you their accuser

True Believers must stop resisting sinners and start loving mankind the way Jesus loves.

In an age where division, pride, and religious hostility have hardened hearts, the Spirit of God is calling His people back to the original mandate: to reveal Christ, not condemn the world. Jesus Himself declared, “For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them” (Luke 9:56 NKJV).

Instead of spending our energy speaking against sin, why not direct people toward Jesus, the only One who can break the chains of sin?

Romans 6:20 reminds us, “For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.” There was a day when each one of us walked in rebellion to God, blind and bound. But now—having become slaves of righteousness—we no longer cling to the desires of the flesh, but surrender to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 6:17–18 NKJV).

How then can we judge those who still live where God has already rescued us from?

Jesus’ rescue mission was never to condemn mankind but to save us (John 3:17 NKJV). When the adulterous woman was thrown before Him, Jesus did not join the chorus of accusation. Love compelled Him to silence the voices of condemnation and to speak life: “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more” (John 8:11 NKJV).

He addressed the sin after revealing grace.

Unbelievers will continue in their sin regardless of how loudly we shout at them. Accusation has never saved a soul. But love—true, Spirit-filled, Christ-centered love—creates a doorway for the Holy Spirit to work repentance, salvation, and forgiveness in the heart.

We may not reach everyone, but we can love the broken, the bound, and the wandering into the Kingdom of God.

Too many today reject Christ not because of Jesus, but because of the man-made religious system that often misrepresents Him—zealous for rules, yet lacking the heart of God (Matthew 15:8–9 NKJV).

Perhaps it is time for us to remove the plank from our own eyes before we attempt to remove the speck from someone else’s (Matthew 7:3–5 NKJV). We must examine our posture: are we representing Christ, or merely religion?

Jesus never called us to condemn humanity. He commissioned us to proclaim the Good News—a Gospel that heals the brokenhearted, sets captives free, opens blind eyes, and brings salvation to the soul (Isaiah 61:1–2; Luke 4:18 NKJV).

For far too long we have pointed fingers, highlighted failures, and told the “bad person” how bad they are—when God has instructed us to reveal His love, kindness, and redeeming power. Scripture declares, “The goodness of God leads you to repentance” (Romans 2:4 NKJV).

Let us return to the heart of Christ:

Not to accuse.

Not to condemn.

But to love, restore, and lead the lost to the Savior who still transforms lives today.

TRUE RECONCILIATION

True reconciliation—the kind our hearts cry out for—can never be achieved through human strategies, political arrangements, or temporary peace treaties. It comes only when we surrender ourselves to the unshakable principles of the Kingdom of God. For reconciliation begins where repentance is found, and repentance begins where pride dies.

When we as a people, as a nation, turn back to the Lord with genuine humility, God responds according to His eternal promise:

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14, NKJV)

Healing belongs to the humble. Restoration belongs to the repentant. Victory belongs to the surrendered.

Yet history reveals a hard truth: people often wait for calamity before they cry out for change. Catastrophe becomes the catalyst because comfort made us spiritually complacent. But God, in His mercy, refuses to stand idly by while humanity destroys itself with rebellion, idolatry, and self-exalted agendas.

He is long-suffering, but He is not indifferent.

He is patient, but He is not passive.

Friends, the burden falls upon you and me—the redeemed, the awakened, the ambassadors of Christ—to stand as the voice of righteousness in a generation drowning in compromise.

We must become those who “cry aloud, spare not… and show My people their transgression” (Isaiah 58:1, NKJV), not in condemnation but in redemptive love.

We do this by embracing an uncompromising lifestyle, one that reflects the very heart of God. Before we can call a nation to repentance, we ourselves must walk in right standing with Christ.

This means realigning our priorities, crucifying the flesh, and dying to every desire that opposes the Kingdom.

Jesus said, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” (Luke 9:23, NKJV)

We must pursue Jesus until we see ourselves in Christ—until His life becomes our identity and His purpose becomes our ambition. “For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” (Colossians 3:3, NKJV)

The world is desperately searching for salvation, yet it keeps drinking from broken cisterns that cannot hold water. But we know the Truth:

Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world (1 John 4:14, NKJV).

And if the world is to see Him, we must be willing to lay our lives down—our comfort, preferences, and self-preserving decisions—so that His glory can be revealed through us.

“For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord… that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.” (2 Corinthians 4:5,10–11, NKJV)

This is the pathway to true reconciliation:

A humbled people.

A surrendered Church.

A nation returning to the foot of the Cross.

Then—and only then—will healing flow like a river, and restoration rise like the dawn.

Speak to the Raging Storm

When the winds howl and the waves rise around you, remember this unshakable truth: the storm does not define you — the Word of God does. Trials may come in many shapes and forms, yet the faithfulness of God remains the constant that anchors your soul.

The Lord has spoken, Heb 13:5 “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (NKJV). This is not merely a comforting phrase—it is a covenant promise, sealed by the character of the eternal God who cannot lie. When fear whispers, when circumstances threaten to overwhelm, His word stands taller than the tallest wave.

Jesus showed us what to do when the storm rages: He spoke to it. Luke 8:24 “Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm” (NKJV).

And that same Jesus says to you today, “Peace, be still.”

Do not let the roar of adversity drown out the whisper of the Spirit. When darkness presses in, lift your voice in faith, for the God who commands the storm is the same God who walks with you through it.

Isaiah 43:2 "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you… and the rivers, they shall not overflow you” (NKJV).

So speak—not from fear, but from your position in Christ.

Speak—not according to what you see, but according to what God has said.

Speak—not to survive the storm, but to silence it.

For the One who holds creation in His hands also holds you, and His promise stands: Psalm 18:2 “The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer” (NKJV).

Stand firm. Lift your head. Declare the Word. The storm may rage, but your God reigns.

Don't follow blindly

The true Church does not gather around a denomination, a brand, or a category—she gathers around a Person.

Wherever the saints assemble in the name of Jesus Christ, there He is in the midst (Matthew 18:20). Christ alone remains the Head, and we are His body—many members, yet one in Him (1 Corinthians 12:12–13). Division was never His design; oneness in the Spirit is the testimony of those who belong to Him (Ephesians 4:3–4).

Paul rebuked the believers in Corinth because some gathered around personalities instead of Christ, saying, “I am of Paul… I am of Apollos…” (1 Corinthians 1:12). But Paul, as a true father in the faith, called them back to maturity. He said, “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1). His heart was not to create followers of himself, but to raise sons and daughters who would grow into the full measure of Christ (Ephesians 4:13).

Today we have many instructors, teachers, and voices—but few fathers. Paul said plainly, “For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers” (1 Corinthians 4:15).

Instruction without a father’s heart becomes cold, mechanical, and void of sincerity. The Church needs leaders who carry the Spirit’s imprint—not self-appointed, not puffed up, but raised up by the Holy Spirit, walking as living examples to the flock (1 Peter 5:2–3).

We do not need leaders who exalt themselves, for knowledge without humility only produces pride (1 Corinthians 8:1). We need those who exhibit Christ in meekness, love, integrity, and power. Jesus Himself said, “Learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart” (Matthew 11:29). And yet this meekness did not weaken Him—He demonstrated the Kingdom with authority. For “the kingdom of God is not in word but in power” (1 Corinthians 4:20).

The dominion of the Christ life is not merely about quoting a favorite verse or singing a familiar song. It is the reality of heaven invading earth. It is the Kingdom breaking into the present moment—here, now, in our midst, just as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). It is a life empowered by the Spirit, transformed from within, and revealed through obedience, holiness, and love.

So do not bind yourself to fancy words, eloquent preaching, or the hype of a gathering. Paul warned of those who “with smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple” (Romans 16:18). Rather, anchor your life to those who imitate Christ, whose fruit bears witness to His lordship, whose lives echo His example, and whose leadership draws you upward into Him.

Religious traditions will imprison you

Growing up in a traditional Pentecostal setting, I was shaped by an atmosphere that was deeply religious yet painfully legalistic. It was a veiled attempt to project holiness—an outward form of godliness without the inward power. Everything revolved around works. Works that, unknowingly, made the Cross of no effect in the lives of those who gathered faithfully every Sunday (Galatians 2:21).

There were so many restrictions placed upon us that heaven felt like an impossible destination. A man-made religious system had crafted a “straight and narrow” so narrow that no human soul could ever fit through it. The goalpost of righteousness was always moving, always unattainable, always just out of reach. And as a young boy, I witnessed a side of religion that has pushed many to walk away from the Kingdom—not because God failed them, but because religion misrepresented Him.

Jesus warned of such days, saying, “For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers” (Matthew 23:4). That was the religion I knew—rules without relationship, pressure without presence, expectation without empowerment.

It took years for the Lord to undo what had been engraved on my heart. Years of unlearning fear. Years of tasting grace. Years of discovering that the God of my childhood was not the taskmaster of religion, but the Father of mercy. And through it all, I can boldly declare: His mercy pursued me. His hand guided me. His love refused to let me go. “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life” (Psalm 23:6).

Today, I no longer resist the religious structures out of bitterness, nor do I war against the people still trapped in them. Instead, I have embraced the grace of God that has opened my eyes to His divine purpose in this hour. “For by grace you have been saved through faith… not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8–9).

I stand in the freedom Christ purchased, not the bondage men created. I walk in the liberty of the Spirit, not the limitations of tradition. And with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, I am being transformed into His image—from religion to relationship, from striving to resting, from fear to confidence in His finished work (2 Corinthians 3:17–18).

If grace can rewrite my story, it can rewrite any story.

Swimming Against the Current of Religion

When I look at the man-made religious institution commonly referred to as “the church,” I often find myself unable to identify with its structures, systems, and long-standing traditions. What many have come to celebrate as “church” has become an institution—carefully crafted, meticulously maintained—yet often tragically devoid of the transforming presence of Jesus Christ. Paul warned of this danger when he described a people “having a form of godliness but denying its power” (2 Timothy 3:5 NKJV).

If His power is absent, then where is His Christ?

Institutionalized religion often becomes a barrier instead of a bridge. It hinders personal and spiritual growth when it replaces relationship with routine, and when it substitutes genuine transformation with empty tradition. When rituals become more important than repentance, when programs overshadow presence, when the organization becomes more visible than the Christ it professes to represent—the soul slowly withers. Jesus rebuked this very error: “You have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition” (Matthew 15:6 NKJV).

Tradition without transformation becomes spiritual stagnation.

I have always found a strange kinship with the salmon—an unusual but prophetic companion. The salmon swims against the current, not in rebellion, nor to prove superiority, but because its purpose demands a different direction. It refuses to be carried along by the stream of convenience or conformity. Instead, it chooses the upstream journey of destiny. This mirrors the prophetic call within me: a call to question, discern, and challenge the patterns guiding many. The prophet is never rebellious—he is resolute.

Jeremiah knew this fire well: “His word was in my heart like a burning fire… and I could not hold it back” (Jeremiah 20:9 NKJV).

Growing up within traditional Pentecostal circles, I sensed early on that something was amiss. I heard much talk about Jesus, yet rarely saw Him revealed. The Christ I encountered in Scripture was not always the Christ demonstrated in daily living around me. There seemed to be a veil between doctrine and devotion. The form was present, but the substance was missing. Jesus confronted this disconnect head-on: “These people draw near to Me with their mouth… but their heart is far from Me” (Matthew 15:8 NKJV).

Institutional religion often hinders spiritual maturity because it teaches people how to behave before teaching them how to become. It produces attendants instead of disciples, spectators instead of sons. It nurtures dependency on the system, not dependency on the Spirit. Instead of cultivating a hunger for God, it often satisfies people with religious activity—yet the soul remains unfed. Paul addressed this problem when he wrote, “I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it” (1 Corinthians 3:2 NKJV).

Systems may keep the hands busy, but only the Spirit can make the heart grow.

Being a child of God is far richer and far more powerful than simply being called a “Christian.” A title does not produce transformation; Christ does. The early believers were first called Christians in Antioch not because they had joined an institution, but because their lives reflected Jesus so clearly that the world had to give them a name (Acts 11:26 NKJV). Our identity is not found in buildings, denominations, or traditions—it is found in Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27 NKJV).

Institutionalized religion teaches belief in Christ without teaching life in Christ. It elevates positions, titles, and hierarchies rather than cultivating humility, servanthood, and sonship. But the Kingdom forms Christ’s character—not religious credentials. Jesus made the standard clear: “By their fruits you will know them” (Matthew 7:20 NKJV).

The Kingdom does not build institutions; it forms sons.

Religion trains participants; Christ raises disciples.

Rituals polish appearances; the Spirit transforms hearts.

To be hidden in Christ is to step beyond the shallow waters of tradition and into the deep currents of His life. It is to live in such union with Him that He becomes visible through us—not institutions, not systems, not rituals—but Him.

For “as He is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17 NKJV).
