Which Veruca do you resonate with more? The one with the golden goose or the one with the squirrels? I feel very Violet almost all the time. We're just the worst when it comes to that, that's why you're my kindred spirit. And you're inherently slow, you're tall as fuck. Short, fast people have the edge at things like laser tag. If Cynthia shows up wearing her monster high heels, then I'll just have to win for both of us so she doesn't break her neck - though I have seen her run in them, I don't know how she doesn't break the laws of physics with her ankles. You do enjoy snapping gum, that's for sure. Meant to be, or something like that. You're so full of shit. Tall people have less space for the laser tag lasers to hit, don't you know? Yeah, preferably no broken necks anytime soon, please, if she has to wear high heels, though - don't we all? I look good in a heel, for what it's worth. She's incredible, that's the how and why. Patience, baby boy. It'll all be worth it...maybe I'll get it all edited and bound in paperback by Christmas. We'll see. Your humility is one of my fave parts about you, don't get me wrong, but you deserve for your ego to be a little extra inflated sometimes. It's well-earned. Vocal rest hates to see me coming, I'm singing anyway. Cynthia hates karaoke, so I think she'd burn me at the stake (witch joke -- ha) if I suggested we go to karaoke. Laser tag sounds good to me, you're about a billion feet tall and pretty slow. I'm sure I could outrun you and spot you behind any obstacle. Win-win for me. Maybe I'll make an alliance with your fiancé, too. It'll be 3 vs 1.

I'm quite tired of being patient, princess. I feel very Veruca Salt a lot of the time, you know, all "I want it now!" But that's not very becoming, is it? I'm glad that someone out there appreciates my egotistical side. God, yeah, I never was good at taking breaks from singing, either, my coach would probably smack me if they knew how many times I'd belted out a line when I was meant to be on rest. Did you know that I wrote novels and novels for you and had to truncate it for the snippet? They told me, 'Ariana, you cannot write triple the amount than the other dedications did'. I can't begin to thank you enough for your kind and generous words, Ari. There's... I mean, there are plenty of people I'd love to see write nice things about me, of course, but somehow yours end up carrying the most weight. Knowing how you see the world, and who you admire, it means the most to me that you took the time to speak so about me and our friendship, when one would argue you have a million and one other things to do. He's laughing lowly under his breath, until he hears the rest of Jon's thought and very expert segue. It has him pausing, not because he has any intention on saying no - the ring on Jon's finger is proof enough that he's at least shaken off a little bit of his flightiness - but because he's not expecting it now. "What?" He asks softly, in disbelief, but his smile's only growing as he looks over at him. "Baby...I'd be crazy to not say yes to that. I would love to marry you back."

It's all a little bit primary school, honestly, and though Jon laughs softly – it's also a breath of relief. He doesn't know why, but it's been hanging over him since the proposal by the duck pond previously. He reaches into his nightstand to present the ring that will have them on even footing to Oscar, opening the box as he carefully speaks: "All I want is you, is us. When the going gets though, when things feel... impossible, all I have to think back to is the fact that you're mine and I'm yours and we're going to be together, forever. I know that saying yes is the easiest thing you've ever done, seems so obvious – but to me, today, it's everything. I can't wait to marry you." He slides the ring onto Oscar's finger, his own hand shaking for some odd reason. "I can't wait until... everything, with you."

"I am, thank you," he agrees playfully, but looks up at Jon and listens to what his master plan was supposed to be. He wishes he could will himself back to sleep quick enough, but instead closes his eyes and curls up even closer. "I can't help that I want to watch you sleep, in the least creepy way possible. That requires waking up first." He nuzzles further into the pillow, but peeks up at Jon. "Think you can still make it happen? Or do I have to hope to be better tomorrow?"

"You're lucky that, when it comes to you, I kind of like creepy," Jon says easily, leaning into kiss the space between Oscar's brows. He's planned on proposing for a while, tried to come up with some elaborate scheme like the other man had with the duck pond, but realised quite quickly that what he wants is the security that moments like this allow for. He lingers close to his skin with his lips, pauses for a moment. Then: "...which is as good as any other segue into asking you to marry me, back, please."

He has a whole spiel but wants to hear his promise first, for some reason, as if he has reason to feel nervous – as if this isn't already a sure thing. If asked, he'd blame all of the uncertainty that came before this. Before the two of the men was truly a them.

"What?" He asks softly, like he's misheard him in the sleepy fog that still shrouds both of them. When he does fully hear him, he rolls lightly back onto his shoulder blade. "You want me back asleep? I can make that happen, do the whole fake snoring bit and everything." He's joking, of course, but he does move to settle down onto his back again.

"Oh, yeah, you're quite the actor," Jon muses, which isn't even a half-truth. He's seen enough of his work. He turns so that he's propped up on his elbow and looking down at his fiancé. He's smiling, despite it all. "I was supposed to make breakfast, your favourites, and coffee... wake you up with the aroma of all of that... but you ruined my plan, you early riser, you."

Oscar's still somewhat on Cloud 9, between enjoying time in London and time with his fiancè, so much so that any pending work responsibilities are off far in the distance. He wakes up next to Jon and before him, bathed in the sunlight that's peeking through their window with Benson at their feet, so he brushes his thumb lightly against his forehead until he feels him start to stir. "Hey." He murmurs softly, tugging the comforter up over them. "Good morning." @prosefully

Things have been pretty incredible between the two of them, ever since they stopped focusing on have-nots on focusing on what they both have together, in each other. That's why Jonathan awakens with a contented smile on his face, snuggling closer to Oscar underneath the layers of warmth. "Mm," Jon says, like there's a vague moment where he's forgotten where he is and how good it is where he is, now. Then he remembers. "You were supposed to be asleep. Ruined all of my special plans, you have."
