VERSE 1 — ▌patrolling the unknown. ( main verse )▐ –– open
past: growing up, stiles had his ups and down. but like the universe had it, it always came back to the middle. for instance, at age 9, his mother died of frontotemporal dementia. but as the universe has it, his father got a promotion and raise the year after, making living slightly less terrible for them. or how in the beginning of sophomore year, his best friend got bitten by a werewolf and got super awesome werewolf abilities, but in tow with the werewolf abilities came the hunters, other werewolves, and other baddies that came out of the night. every time something good or bad happened, it would even out in the end.
another thing the universe can do, is bring out the irony in a situation. like how the year stiles’ father gets pushed into retirement is the same time he finishes in the academy and gets assigned to the beacon county police department. stiles was excited to get the opportunity to work with his father and clean up any supernatural mess that came his way, including the fact that he could finally get paid for it. but around this time, his dad’s health was failing, yet again and he was “encouraged” to retired. though, stiles would still bring over the cases he got to get his father’s input, like what his dad would do for him when he was younger.
present: currently, stiles is working at the beacon county police department, under sheriff parrish. he and parrish work together to contain the supernatural that still visits the area due to the nemeton. stiles is twenty-six years old, living in an apartment ( in derek’s apartment complex ) with his pet turtle, roscoe ( named after the late-roscoe, his blue jeep. rip roscoe ). he is single, focusing on his work and the supernatural more than his love life.
VERSE 2 — ▌gun shots to keep you up at night. ( verse ii )▐ –– open
past: to lose one parent. it hurts. it hurts so much that it’s like there is a hole in your heart that cant be filled. it hurts knowing that it is just you and your other parent to make it on without them. with the lose of one parent, it can make you feel like everything is wrong and that no one will ever fill that space that they had occupied. there will always be an empty seat at the table for your family dinners. there will always be the spacious family photos that you take. there will always be the feeling that you are missing that one thing. that one person.
but. the moment you lose both your parents. that’s when that hole in your heart makes it crack rest of the way and shatter into a million pieces. that’s when you’re not even sure what to do anymore. the routine you had made with that other parent has been destroyed. you have no one anymore. when you lose both parents, you just want to lay down and not get up.
on one frightful day, while stiles was home from the police academy on vacation, he was out on patrol with his dad, getting a feel for how he would be operating things when he was to become a officer like his father. these times with his dad, he cherished, learning more than he had before while getting the real experience from his father. but then, during this patrol, they had a call in for a 10-15. a burglary. stiles pestered his dad to take him with, so he could get a taste of the action, leaving his dad to reluctantly agree. Unknown to the two, it was not only a burglary, but a hostage situation. stiles and his father walk into the store, planned on consulting with the owner about the stolen good, when the burglar shoots the sheriff down instantly. stiles had dropped to the floor in shock, laying next to his dying father, leaving him with nothing he could possibly do but wait. he tried applying pressure to the bullet wound, his ear still ringing from the shot, but once his father’s eyes had shut, he knew that they were no longer opening. the police had gotten there about two minutes after the time of death, but to stiles it felt like two hours. the burglar and now murderer had been brought to jail while stiles watched the mortician put his fathers body in a bag, blood still on stiles’ hands.
present: stiles now was working for the police department of beacon county. he suffered high levels of ptsd and was watched carefully by his colleagues and friends. his past issues with panic attacks had arisen once more, them being more frequently now, leaving him with minimal hours of sleep. whenever he does sleep, he dreams about his mom and dad. he dreams about the times were life was simple and so much more easy than how it was now. he dreams about the times he didn’t want to lie down and not get up.
VERSE 3 — ▌can kick ass and rock ass. ( verse iii )▐ - open
past: stiles had grown up with possible the worst name possible. msciwoja. not only was it terrible for anyone to spell or pronounce, but it was a boy’s name, even if you couldn’t tell. stiles had been named after her grandfather, it being, according to her mother, “a tradition that needed to be passed down the family, given to every first born son”. unluckily enough for stiles, she didn’t believe in herself as a boy. yes, she was born as a boy, but what she really felt was a girl in a boy’s body. she tried telling her parents at a young age of what she felt, and her mom had actually believed her, but her dad had not gone along with it so well. so, when her mother passed away, stiles had felt helpless. she felt like she was on the losing side of the lacrosse field, that being ironic seeing as how she never played. she had always felt uncomfortable changing in the locker rooms for pe and lacrosse. hating the dangling object between her legs. so one night, after doing an extensive amount of research, she told her father she wanted to become who she really was. a female.
they had fought for hours, though it felt like they were going at it for days, but the arguments finally ended with the phrase, “mom would have believed me.” and that was it. it was a low blow on stiles behalf. yes. but it showed her father how much she really had needed it to happen. so, they scheduled an appointment.
present: she now could freely call herself a woman and live that way. stiles and her father had gone through all the procedures and treatments for transitioning from male to female and all she really had to do was take her estrogen shots every two to four weeks. she got to do most things other woman got to do and she was actually accepted into the police academy, becoming a deputy in the beacon county police department.
