Good old zombie1ovejuice has gotten back to me about using the characters from EMH and the response is, once again, positive!
This means that we have permission from the creators of Marble Hornets, TribeTwelve and EverymanHybrid to use their characters, which means that the creation can, essentially, start being put into motion again.
If you would like us to include characters from any other series, please be sure to let us know. Any links to contact the creators of said series would be greatly appreciated.
do you plan on the 3D type game format, pixel, or the format for games like pokepirates or pokeninjas (I dont know the format but its 2D)
I'm going to say 2andahalfD because it really doesn't fit under anything else

"The big three" will be the basis of the game but once I get permission from all of them (EMH still pending) I might try and see what the creators of DH00 and MLA have to say. Those characters will not be "playable" per say, as RPG4 allows a maximum of 4 playable characters, but if the creators let me I might give some cameos a thought
I'm gonna ask now do you plan on (if you're gonna be doing this in the game) have any talking between characters?
RPG4 is very diverse in what you can do in terms of scripts.
Although there isn't a "talk" script, there is an "interact with item" script, which creates an event in which you select an object and various things will happen, including text, imagery or "talking." So essentially, you walk to to (for example) Firebrand, hit the interact button and an image of him will appear next to whatever he will be saying.
No voice acting, unfortunately, as it would be much too difficult to recreate the voices of the characters without the actors themselves, which would be tedious.
The chat function if games such as OFF and Yume Nikki is a great example of the kind of thing we'll be doing.

No worries!I'm constantly changing things all the time based on ideas and things, so the layout of the game could end up being completely different to what I planned on it being
I think it would be a good idea to have Mary Ashers 'special' attack to have something to do with her eyes as she as we proxy form has them covered. Make it seem like there is a reason behind this? Also, are you adding The Collective into this game, if so I will try get some ideas together for you. I can't draw or do anything to do with music so ideas is all you will get out of me, sorry.
Mary will make a special appearance in the game, but as for her abilities, we've not thought of much, I'll definitely try to fit your idea in somewhere
Hello mrwhitticus I found your blog here by a lucky find and am intrigued could I here about the ideas for you game so far like is it free roam or a story you need to follow Basically what you've got for your idea so far
Well, as mentioned above, the production has been paused for some work-a-rounding because of a few things.
First and foremost is that I'm still having a bit of difficulty contacting EMH's Vincent to ask for his permission to use his characters and ideas in the project. If anyone has any idea how to get in touch with him, please let me know. Second of all, the computer which I was working on had a slight problem, and let's just say I'm still trying to recover the files for the game. It's either that or starting from the beginning.
Some other problems arose, but were cleared up and as soon as I can get Mr. Caffarello's word on the project, we will most likely begin work on it again.
In terms of the game and it's story, I'm inclined to keep most of that information to myself. Obvious reasons to this include twists and turns and surprises and others include things that I think I'll be able to do but, on closer inspection, I am not able to (which has already happened numerous times) and I don't want to set up some amazing hope from everyone and let you all down.
Reading back through my Archives and digging up what information I've already given, I can tell you that the game focuses loosely around what happens to victims of The Operator and his various ragtag team of camera-breaking buddies once they die, whether it be related to their "haunting" or not. So far, Troy and Adam of their respectful series have given their go ahead on the project, so I can confirm that the game will contain characters and organizations such as Masky, ToTheArk and The Collective.
The game will be loosely based off of the series, but really all that it will be taking from it is it's characters and placing them in a different situation to work through. The ending of Marble Hornets had made it much easier to plan ahead, but in terms of mentioning events within the actual series, there will be a minimum, so that anything that happens in the series once the game is released will not invalidate or change the story at all.
Apart from this, all I can really say is that me and a bunch of people are all working on a great big interactive fanfiction, and /i can't wait for it to be finished.
Keep in mind that even with the project on pause we still need art, music and ideas so keep sending stuff in, even if it'll take a while for us to get it actually stuck somewhere.

I must apologise for the lack of recent updates but I've been busy with getting a new computer and I've been distracted with other projects and school. I promise once my computer is sorted out I'll do my best to continue with the project.
Battle Animations
Battle animations have begun! I have taken one of the sprites (of the very few, come on guys I need some more) submitted to me and have started messing around with it. The battle system is full of different symbols as well as the characters themselves moving. For example, if one uses Vinnie's newly animated "Summon Entity" it will send an evil looking face of some sort down upon the enemy [experimental]. That said, if any of you want to design a graphic or symbol of some kind to have as an animation, send it to us and we'll chuck it in somewhere!
ugh, disappointed to learn that you'll be using characters from the slenderverse series. I was hoping for a game with new content / ideas. =/ I wish you the best of luck but eh. disappointed.
Well, considering the fact that the entire point of this game was that it was meant to be based on the pre-made slenderverse ARGs anyway, using the characters makes a lot of sense. However, the rest of the game (story, activities, art and other stuff) will be completely original.
Even if the characters were swapped out the game would still be based on the slenderverse ARGs, and the entire point of this project was not only to create something that creatively mixes all of these wonderful series together, but to have the extended communities of these series share all their own creations to everyone else in a fun, interactive medium.
I hope you still get around to checking out the game anyway.

If I'm gonna get a jump start on this game, I need to start animating stuff soon otherwise we're going to get nowhere.
So, if I'm going to start anywhere with animation, I'd like to start with enemy fighting stuff. And if I'm going to do enemy fighting stuff, I need enemies to fight. This is where you all come in.
I would love to help out in any way. Except I don't draw. Well... I do, but not anything you'd want... unless you need some proxy scribbles. I can do those. What I'm trying to say, is I want to help and will do pretty much anything. How does that sound?
If you don't have the particular talent for art, music or anything like that, then just either spreading the word or giving in some good ideas will help a lot
