Severus wanted nothing more than to keep attacking, but their duel had already caused far too much attention and he knew well that it was considered damnable by most onlookers to jinx an incapacitated opponent. He could already see security wizards pushing their way through the crowd to get to them and didnāt intend to get himself taken in for this.Ā āYou got lucky this time, Potter,ā he sneered.Ā āBut if you ever cross me again, donāt expect mercy.ā And with that he fled into the crowd, which parted easily now, making for the exit. He would hide outside, heal his leg, and keep a low profile until he thought security would no longer be lookingāthat is, if Potter didnāt rat him out.
Snape could have done anything he wanted, but there...then he was walking away from James.Ā What the hell?Ā What on earth did that mean?Ā This didnāt make any sense.Ā He was walking away and he wasnāt attacking him.Ā The security wizards let James down with a huge thump and brushed him off.Ā He ignored their questions and stalked away, immediately getting another drink.Ā No one would be hearing about this, that was for sure.Ā James had no wish for anyone to know exactly how Snape had bested him.Ā That was a slight on his honour.
