For this project, we were supposed to come up with something we could give to the next round of students who will be taking this class, whether it was a certain skill, a script for a lesson, or general advice. I chose to write up some things I wish I had known before taking this course.
For this project, we were asked to watch a series of political ads and code them for certain traits such as emotions shown, target audience, policies discussed, and more. Above is my reflection on the activity.
For this project, I worked with RStudio, a coding software, to create visualizations of different health trends both in the United States and internationally. The first map shows depression rates within the US while the second shows international smoking rates.
For this project, we had a guest speaker come in and explain a way of brainstorming ideas and solutions. Above is my reflection on the process.
For this project, we were asked to use the coding program SAS and find correlations between different variables relating to lifestyle and emotion. We were also asked to create a visual representing one of the more interesting findings we had.
*NOTE* The visual is not intended to insult or offend any group of people, I myself come from a low income background and my intention was to raise awareness of this disparity.
For this project, we as a class were asked to analyze faces, stories, and instances where the two were combined to determine what emotion each was likely expressing. We were then asked to review the data and find trends that may exist. I was tasked with looking at instances 16-18, but you can read the rest of my group’s findings here as well!
For this project, we were asked to record five excerpts out of a textbook, choose our favorite, and create a visual of the audio using Adobe Audition. These are visualizations of the spectral frequency and spectral pitch of sample D, respectively.

In this project, we were asked to take stock photos or videos that represented a certain visual perception concept. The first photo, a pin that was gifted to me, uses the principle of light and shadow to show depth. The second photo taken within Olin Library demonstrates linear perspective.
In this project, we were asked to take stock photos or videos that represented a certain visual perception concept. This video of my friend having their nails painted demonstrates the use of color and occlusion. Video 3/3
In this project, we were asked to take stock photos or videos that represented a certain visual perception concept. This video of bees pollinating plants in front of Usdan demonstrates both textural gradient and occlusion. Video 2/3
In this project, we were asked to take stock photos or videos that represented a certain visual perception concept. This video of students walking on Wesleyan’s Andrus Field demonstrates relative size and size constancy. Video 1/3
