If anyone is wondering where to find a queer SEAsian movie, they should watch Song Lang, directed by Leon Le. It’s queer in the same way that Good Omens is, but inextricably intertwined with Vietnamese culture. It’s so beautifully acted, directed, and edited. I will state up front that we don’t get a happy ending, but I like to pretend that the last 15 minutes of the movie are just a nightmare. Don’t expect any kisses, but it’ll tug your heartstrings all the same.

You want tragedy? Got you covered. Bad boy with a heart of gold? Beautifully executed. Enemies to friends to something so much more? GOD.
