It's been memed and joked about, and still is, but the sheer joy when she says, We deserve each other. It's not talked about enough.
I wanted Nessa's fears and desires, just for her to feel like a person. I wanted more of her character. More of her. A couple of scenes.
Like I kind of want to know if there was a time they ever were close, when did they start to drift? Become distanced. There's a thought.
I wish we had more sister moments between Elphaba and Nessa in general. That's not what the film is about, but I still would've liked to see it.
I've changed my opinion on Nessarose quite a lot. I think she's a complex, flawed, and really interesting character to dissect.
Nessa was shaped by her environment. She was shielded from realities, much like Glinda was.
I feel that Glinda and Nessa really are mirrors of each other. The difference is that Glinda had the chance to become the person she could be, and Nessa never got that opportunity.
I wish Nessa Rose survived and redeemed herself. I wanted to see the two sisters reconcile and connect again so badly. I would have loved a moment like this.
A rant about Nessa
People say Fiyero was a plot device but I think it's Nessarose. She doesn't have much personality compared to other characters, only to be difficult to Elphaba. We don't know her other goals or motivatons. I wish the film fleshes out her character more.
Glindas made mistakes in the story. I don't think staying should be one. She doesn't hold her nerve the same way Elphaba does. She became panicked, she was numb. She couldn't make decisions. Elphaba had to string her along the whole time. On top of that very easy for Elphaba to romanticise that decision, the outsider with all toxic relationships. This isn't true for Glinda. Her parents adore her and care for her very much. They don't even know about this. Going on the run and your parents don't know where you are. Staying in itself was not a mistake. It only a becomes a mistake when she chose to support a system that she knows has harmed her friend.
My last note is that sometimes it can be important to speak up if things don't seem fair or right. That's all.

Thank you for following/ reading my posts.
I am finally done
Missy became redeemed
She eventually changed, made the right choice.
This exchange makes me think of Gina and Amy "uncuff me now". "Keep going you're the bait I'm the hook".
Gina reminds me of Missy. Unpredictable chaotic. You don't really know where her mind is going.
