2012 vs 2016

I know that a lot of the fangirling that goes on is funny and obnoxious and based on cute boys and trends, but I think people forget that there are other reasons we love the people we love.

This squish is absolutely the most attractive person I’ve ever seen in my life, but he’s a whole hell of a lot more.

He’s also breathtakingly talented. I’ve been around talented singers and musicians my whole life. I’ve taken and taught voice lessons. I’ve sang on stage in front of thousands of people with people far more talented than I am. That being said, Avi’s voice literally stops me in my tracks. I can’t get enough of it.

He’s incredibly kind and caring and encouraging to anyone and everyone he encounters in his life.

He is full of passion and takes every opportunity he can to pour that passion into his craft. He takes time out of his life to pour that passion into hundreds of young singers, making sure that he shares what he’s been given. He’s excited to sing with people that have no status or fame or anything to offer that could further Avi’s career. He just loves singing and he loves people.

He is humble and dotes on the rest of Pentatonix like it’s his job. He’s never acted like a diva and he’s been supportive of every member regardless of how diverse their beliefs are. When given the opportunity to sing lead on a song that Mitch and Scott wrote, he couldn’t stop talking about it. How beautiful the song was, how thankful he was that they asked him to do it, how much it meant to him that he’d be able to have his kids listen to it one day.

He’s family focused, making sure to see them as often as he can and doting on his sister literally every opportunity he gets. That being said, his friends are his family and he will defend them against anyone that threatens to hurt them or tear them down.

One thing that always makes me smile about Avi is that whenever they start a new project or get to tour somewhere new, he’s always so in awe of everything that is happening around him. He doesn’t expect shit to be handed to him and is always so grateful and thankful when a new opportunity arises. When a new door opens, he runs through it willing to do the work.

Sorry this is so long, but I had to get it out.

I think my 2017 goal is to live life more like Avi Kaplan.

I think it’s also worth mentioning how incredibly considerate he is with fans. He’ll meet so many fans one after another and he still makes sure to really listen to what they tell him. He’ll lock eyes with you so that you just know he’s fully concentrated and listening to you. And he always takes a little while to reply to questions just to make sure he gives an honest answer, like for example when I asked him if he remembered me from my acapellacademy audition he didn’t say “Yes of course” right away just to make me feel good but he actually really looked at me and then genuinely told me that he does remember me, which makes that worth so much more.

He always wants each and every one of his fans to have a unique and special and perfect experience. When they are answering questions during the Q&A portion of the soundcheck party, he’ll listen very closely to the question and to the answers the others give and if he notices that some aspects of your questions weren’t answered he makes sure to answer those at the end so you have a full 100% answer.

He is honestly such an inspiring person because he just is so genuinely sweet and caring and thoughtful!

And yes, I completely agree with your 2017 life goal!

i just love how the first time i discovered avi, he seemed like the stern, quiet person in the group. but then, the more i watch videos of him and the more i actually got to know him, i suddenly start to realize that he’s actually a genuine, humble, dragon loving, bbq obsessed, sensitive little dork who has yet to find his true love.

Ok, I’m about to get real sappy about Scott, but here goes. 

Scott is such a genuine, sweet, and supportive human being. He constantly lifts everyone around him up whether they’re his closest friends or fans who he’s never met before. He’s also incredibly talented and passionate about his music/PTX, and he always stays humble. Of course there’s the sillier things like the fact that he didn’t know how to use a nail file, or that blue mixed with yellow does not in fact make purple, or that he constantly makes tweet typos, but that just makes me love him more. I’ve yet to find one person, famous or non-famous, who has a bad word to say about him. He is literally a ray of sunshine.

So true. And seriously, he’s so damn intelligent. And I mean that in the way that he’s got comedic timing for the Gods. There’s a reason his vine was successful, and how his and Mitch’s youtube channel is successful. Like, aside from his obvious musical talent and kindness, he just knows how to work social media and it’s impressive to watch.

I’ve been saying this forever. He’s literally a genius when it comes to marketing and he’s had like zero formal training (like, I took classes for this shit and I’m not that good). Scott is honestly such a great person to look up to (ha, I’m funny). I’m such a Scott stan. And I wish I could tell him how awesome he is, but when I met him I just sat there like “What is air?”

Text Confession

Recently, a magazine article left Kevin out when discussing who was in Pentatonix. A fan replied to it and tagged Kevin, and Kevin proceeded to say, “Story of my life.” That’s the first time I’ve ever seen him actually acknowledge that he isn’t taken into as much consideration as the others sometimes, and it makes me really sad that he just has to accept that.
