TONIGHT'S THE KIND OF NIGHTâ Puckerose.
Marley waited for him to enter the dining hall before she walked in herself, taking her place beside him as they walked the the dessert area. She listened intently as he recalled his own experiences with living on campus. âOh, you were a hockey player?â She asked. She had never really been all that into sports, so it would make sense that she wouldnât have really known that. Her ex was a law major, and was way too busy for sports so sheâd never really met anyone on the team. She smiled down at the cup when Puck motioned it towards her, âThanks.â she replied, taking the cup in her hand. âSo, do you miss it, now that itâs all over?â She asked, referring to the college experience in general. She put a small amount of vanilla ice cream in her cup, and just for spite - added two cherries on top. âWhat can I say, Iâm boring.â she shrugged, making a joke of the fact that her ice cream was plain and simple.
Truth be told, Marley wasnât exactly one to over indulge anyways. Usually heâd be the last one at the dessert cart or generally in the dining hall at all. Growing up seeing your mom belittled because of her weight didnât exactly do well on the self esteem. Once she was sure he was ready, she motioned over to the nearest table and sat down once again.Â
"Yep, it's how I ended up going here." It wasn't a well known story really, he didn't tell almost anyone about the fact he was offered to play college hockey because it never seemed like an option for him to go to college, "A scout came to a game in high school, he said he'd give me a scholarship to go here, I got my head outta my ass and the rest is history." He tried to sound casual about what he said, as if it wasn't important, but it had impressed him even know he managed what he did, "Some times I miss it, most of the time I don't. It's probably better I got outta playing before I lost any of my teeth." Though he didn't get out completely unscathed, but that was a story for another time. He looked down at her vanilla and two cherry bowl and it didn't look like that much to him. Which was why her comment made sense. He shook his head and chuckled a little,
"You are one cheap date." He commented without thinking about it, meaning the words as a joke rather than anything even remotely serious, "You can get more, y'know. I meant it when I said I was buying. I caused you a night of being sexiled and away from your bed."
