→ It’s Our Anniversary
southern-girl-marley:
Things lately had been great with Puck. Of course things had been hard for him adjusting to being back in the states, but she never once left his side. First off, that wasn’t something she would do. Secondly, she wouldn’t leave the man she loved no matter what happened to him. That was what a relationship was about.
It was finally Summer. There was just something about summer time that made her happy. Maybe it the stress of not having to worry about classes or having Puck home this year. When he was gone, it was a rough time. Thankfully he came home even if it was a bit more bruised and battered. Puck was always around when he wasn’t at work, but she didn’t mind on bit. Although, she still worried about him, but she tried to not let him know about her worries. She wasn’t going to mother him, but that didn’t stop her from being concern.
Summer always made her optimistic and this one wasn’t any different.
The fact that she had to work on her anniversary made her a bit sad. Normally, she would have gotten the day off, but one of the other waitresses had a sick kid, so she said she would come in. Not that she had planned anything big herself. The fact she knew that Puck wasn’t comfortable yet in big crowds made some things not an options. They could have still had a quiet night in at her house. Maybe they could still do something when she got off. After all, three years together was a long time. In the beginning if someone would have told her that the guy that hit on her that first day at the diner is who she would be celebrating three years together, she would have told them they were crazy. Now she couldn’t imagine her life without him. He meant so much to her.
After a long shift, she was finally free. Her plan was to go home and make herself presentable and call Puck to see if he wanted to come over. Before she got a chance to even exit her car, her boyfriend was there and handing her flowers. He always knew how to make a rough day instantly better. As she took the flowers and her him speak, she smile brightly. “Happy Anniversary Puck”
Puck was always at a loss for words at how Marley could be coming home from a long ass shift and still look fucking perfect when she got home. She was constantly taking his breath away and this wasn’t any different. He handed her the flowers then opened the door for her, offering her one hand to help her out of the car. He didn’t skip a beat, closing the car door behind her and pulling her in for a kiss. He would never grow tired of just having her in his arms. It always brought him instant comfort.
“So, I know you’re probably tired from work, but I got us some serious plans tonight for our anniversary.” He smiled and held a finger up to her lips, knowing exactly what was going to come next. “And before you ask, it’s a surprise.” His smile grew as he pulled his finger away and pressed another kiss to her lips to keep her from asking the inevitable question. At this point, he just knew her too well. “So go upstairs and change into your favorite sun dress. And meet me back here for our date.” Puck let go to allow her to do just that, but not before pulling her in for one last kiss.
