Had to take my daughter to urgent care this afternoon because I suspected strep. It came on suddenly, we saw so much family yesterday 😩

We’ve been back from our California trip for a week and I’m still trying to catch up. My suitcase is still in the floor, I’ve been grocery shopping twice, so.much.laundry, and I don’t know where anything is.

But we had fun! The boys went to two MLB games (and got to see Ohtani pitch), we visited Santa Monica pier, universal, Hollywood blvd, Disneyland & CA, and another beach. We fit a lot in during those 7 days. It was exhausting and I loved it.

We were gifted a pretty large sum of money for Christmas instead of gifts, to be used for a vacation. We’re thinking California to check out Disneyland, go to a baseball game out there and check out the ocean. The planning is so overwhelming, I just want someone else to do it for me.

In case anyone was wondering, if your dog digs in the trash and eats a tampon and a few other things, an emergency vet visit is suggested. X rays will be given and they’ll induce vomiting. It will run you about $950. You’ll wonder why you ever thought adopting puppies 6 months apart was a good idea.

Two under two with dogs is much harder than it was with kids, and I stand by that.

I had a terrible dream last night that people I didn’t know were watching my daughter and we couldn’t find her and I spotted her at the bottom of a pond in their yard. I dove in to get her and as I reached her I woke myself up. Drowning is a big fear of mine, that dream seemed too real and was terrifying.

5 year old is on day 4 of a fever. She coughs once in a while, but her temp has been 99-100 since Saturday. She’s also on her last days of antibiotics for strep throat, but this is something different. I think I had the flu last week and she caught it??? But maybe her flu shot is helping her not have terrible symptoms 🤷🏼‍♀️ she seems fine. I’d just love the fever to go away and to be done with sickness for a while in this house.

People who make a “thank you” post on Facebook and tag every person who posted on their page… why? That seems like more time and effort to get everyone who made you a post and name them. I’d just reply to each message, or a simple ❤️ would do.

I feel like whenever I come here and make an actual post, it’s to bitch about something. And I feel like this isn’t the first time I have said this.

But anyway I’m sick right now. With body aches and a fever and I can’t remember the last time I’ve had anything other than an annoying head cold. It’s probably the flu. And I’ve been too lazy/busy/forgetful to get my flu shot this year - I was planning to do it at my upcoming physical in 2 days. Guess I have to cancel that for now.

Impetigo is a pain in the ass. We’ve dealt with some nasty things like hand, foot & mouth and rotavirus, both were nasty. But I think this one takes the cake. With rotavirus coming in a close second. I’ve spent all day doing laundry, disinfecting, cleaning and trying to keep the infected children quarantined. I’m exhausted., I hope we’re over this soon and never have to deal with it again 😩

Just had to pick up my 5 year old because she has a 102.6 fever. Fevers freak me out, but I don’t treat them unless absolutely necessary because I know they can be helpful. She had her 5 year boosters as well as the flu shot yesterday, so I’m hoping it’s just a reaction to those. Even though she’s never had a reaction to shots before that I can remember. Why must I always jump to worst-case-scenarios in all situations?

I had my first ever jury duty today. I got picked, then had too much of an opinion so got replaced. Now I have to call back tonight to see if I have to go back tomorrow. This whole thing is a joke. Can people really be fair and balanced and hold off on opinions right away? I can’t. Maybe I should work on that.

Cramps in my lower abdomen, pelvis, to my right hip and down to my thigh. I just want to wrap myself in a heating pad and take strong painkillers

Today my youngest turned 5. My oldest turned 12 last week. I feel the days flying by and I hate it. I try to slow down and enjoy them. I took both of their birthdays off last minute to memories with them. I need to do that more, work doesn’t need me as much as they do, and I have so many vacation days to burn.
