I finally watched The Sound of Music and like I get it now, I get it.

It’s a beautiful two hour love story of a strict man finally opening his heart again and then a fifty minute public service announcement to hate the nazis. Brilliant.

not enough people are acknowledging the parallels between sam riordan and erik lehnsherr for me like gen v fandom don’t piss me off.

marie and co versus cate and sam is so similar to the x-men versus the brotherhood.

too many people are simply reducing cate and sam characters to being very two dimensional villains but both of those characters have experienced persecution simply due to the fact they are supes in a way the other 4 just can’t comprehend.

what happened with marie and her parents was of course very traumatising but in a completely different way. sam and cate have lived with judgement and hatred since late childhood (9 to 12) like OF COURSE their response is one of anger and having had completely enough.

cate definitely isn’t my favourite character after it was revealed she stole luke’s memories of sam but i can understand how she was put in that position.

sam and cate’s childhoods were stolen from them by a choice their parents made to their body without their consent and only they have suffered the consequences of this. both of them are too complex characters to be simply reduced to violent extremists.
