I made a new song and it comes out on the 14th!!! I felt like shit writing this because of the subject matter but I really like it so I thought I'd release it before I end up putting out a new EP (which it will be on).

I was messing around with funky picture effects and got this cover art for it. It contains tons of weirdly edited photos of random things, like me, a spider, a rabit, and a bunch of other things that were then distorted into looking like this sort of watercolor image. I feel like it gives a very spacious vibe, which is perfect for the feel of this song and the rest of the EP. I was very inspired by shoegaze, drone, indie pop, and ambient music for this project, and put a heavy emphasis on space. Most of the songs are drowned in reverb and effects to make them feel as far away as I felt from my own self during this time period. I was in the writing process for this right when the Backrooms movie came out and it really helped me get a clearer vision for the vibe I wanted. Backrooms stuck with me and inspired me in a way only fewother pieces of media have and I thank it for that.

I haven't finished everything yet so we'll see what happens next, but this is the first taste. I'm trying my hardest not to rush anything like I have been, because it's led to me putting out stuff I'm not happy with just because I wanted it done. It mostly was a problem on the vocal side of things, where I didn't spend enough time recording or mixing them, so they ended up sounding bad and unfinished. I'm hoping to fix that issue with this EP. I've spent extra time on them so they are more tolerable to listen to. Okay that's my yap

I really hope she ends up watching the Backrooms movie, because when I heard the soundtrack I was thinking of her Obsession posts the whole time. I feel like she'd really appreciate the vibe even if the movie itself doesn't end up being her thing

Ashes (2nd Demo)

I've been finishing up instrumental work on the final version of this song before I head to doing vocals so I thought I'd share this demo that served as an idea base for what I wanted in the final version. I still didn't have my electric guitar fixed at this point so I made this just for reference sake, because otherwise I would have jumped straight to the final.

This version and the final contain an altered 2nd pre-chorus, instead of it being the same thing twice, and I might add some more background vocals in the final chorus to aid in what I wanna say in this song.
