Conservatives from 2015-2023: raising wages raises prices.
Conservatives for the last 3ish months: deporting cheap labor and replacing it with high waged Americans won’t raise prices.
Me: oh okay so you all just lie then, all of you do. Got it. You either know better and lie or you’re brain dead stupid, pick one. I’m picking one for you if you don’t.
Not only are you eliminating cheap labor domestically which will increase prices, but tariffs will make foreign products made by cheap labor far far more expensive too which raises prices on top of an already inflationary action.
This is so fucking simple that the only conclusion I can reasonably come to is that trump voters have to know this and just lie because they don’t like brown people. Or, and this is far more likely and scary: they feel alienated by the economy much like Germans were alienated after the global depression and the treaty of Versailles.
When prices go up inevitably, Trump will have no choice but to figure out how to win people over. In Germany, the first concentration camp was a state run labor camp, not a death camp. If they keep going the Nazi route, what they could do to bring down prices is use those stored immigrants for far cheaper labor since slavery is legal for criminals. Because this is a capitalist country, we could see private prisons benefit.
