I tried some colour techniques, screwed around with clipping masks and some brushes. Colouring still isn’t my cup of tea, but I found the grey scale drawing part quite relaxing. I guess I stay a line art squid … (I played Bioshock Infinite again, so I suppose the main inspiration came from Elizabeth’s outfit.) Next things to do: 1.) Get better with colours. (I probably skip this.) 2.) Find a way to include finger nails in my drawing style. 3.) Try to draw some Bishōnen stuff? Idk.

Today another adventure in the Underdark awaits and I managed to finished the bribery gift for our DM just in time: linocut-esque stamps with 3D printed parts.

(I'm especially pleased with how the rope bridge one turned out.)

I've been invited to one of these strange Christian celebrations that always seem to pop up around this time of year.

They didn't drop any hints for hospitality presents, but apparently they worship and decorate a dead tree ...

I hope they'll have fun with the facehugger, Wayland Yutani and Berserk bauble.

Probably of the same reason why ejecting a body from an airlock makes a dull thud and ramming a space that low rumble. It is funny, though, that our computer lab back then had stricter workplace eating rules than a Weyland-Yutani spaceship full of alien lifeforms. (Hey, we dealt with some nasty bugs there too!)

And even my dentist wears more protection gear at work and she didn’t even performed a damn open heart surgery (which would have been necessary due to an alien parasite) on me. One more thing: Clem(?) says the communication logs are wiped, which means the communication with “the frenchman” on board (I kind of like Malachite’s comments) and B.K. took place before that. In the scene where the captains body is disposed of, we see a planet as the ship moves away from the sun. The planet closest to earth is Venus, about 38 million kilometers in the best constellation. (I am not sure which maneuver they flew but …. maybe?) Electromagnetic waves travel in a vacuum at about 300 000 km per second. So it takes 126 sec each way, or about 4 minutes, for Petrovich to receive an answer via video call to his question about whether he can become a robot. I hope this delay will be included in the DVD/Blu-ray release. Anyway, this was the kind of episode I was waiting for! I usually prefer my parasite infections by malice (like a finger in a champagne glass) rather than by accident, but I can life with that. T. Ocellus stole everyone’s spotlight again.

I have so much other things to do but somehow I am drawn to drawing again. Meet Aera, sorceress tiefling from Deepwater and one of my first real D&D characters (with like a 500 pages backstory). I found her unfinished line art during cleanup and hat to finish it. Being kind of ‘colour ignorant’ (after all these years on this planet I still haven’t figured out witch of these go good together) I am not that happy how these turned out.

Cost of living are rather high in Deepwater so she usually sources her clothes from a nearby second hand shop for tabaxi (tail people need to stick together). One of her backstory arcs revolves around a bakery break in which resulted in a nasty scar on her right leg (all healed up now). She still is kind of a sweet tooth and you probably could get her on your side by bribing her with fresh bread or sweet pastry.

So, I am up to date with Alien: Earth again and don’t get me wrong, I am all for character building and stuff but the series has ‘alien’ in its title and not ‘kindergarten’.

If I’d wanted to watch a series about cyborgs with self-doubts I’d choose Ghost in the Shell or any of its spin offs (they do a far better job on that).

The alien-humanoid screen time ratio is way off.

I demand more creatures!

That said:

Wendy and Joe play well together, Morrow brings great old school alien feeling to the scenes and Kirsh is defenitly in my top character tier.

(It took my a while to recognize ‘Phryne Fisher’ as Dame Sylvia.)

Boy Kavalier and Nibs could work out in the end but they are really on the bubble in my book.

Isaac seems okay too.

The Germans(?) have a saying, "Der Hünger treibt's rein." which roughly translates to: „Noodles and rice, that taste quite nice.“ or so I am being told.
