The way Sheep!Ocellus ate his hay after organizing a hit on two people
Alien: Earth 1.06. The Fly
Kirsh said take your meds for your severe ADHD child YOU HAVE IMPULSE CONTROL ISSUES and t.ocellus AGREED and honestly if I’d been dragged that bad I’d have just curled up in a ball but Kavalier obviously got distracted by the mutant sheep and didn’t. Probably because he didn’t take his meds.
Kirsh: Y/n, please come here for a second.
Y/n: I'm here robo-cop. What's up?
Kirsh: Can you tell me why does the T.Ocellus have a crocheted hat on?
Y/n: * observes the purple hat on the Ocellus* yapp. That's a hat.
Kirsh: I can see that too. My question is, how did you manage to put it on them without being mauled and possessed by it?
Y/n: we are besties *finger gun toward the Ocellus*
Ocellus: *trying to mimic the finger gun back*
Decided to a little bit of artwork of everybody's favourite innocent boy who did nothing wrong.
Trypanohyncha Ocellus seems purposely-designed to come across as the most unsettling, maliciously intelligent creature put to film since that Calvin from Life (2017). A vicious, explosive strength, a violent parasitic strategy and a mobility right out of the fucking Survey Corps.
So it kinda hurts me to see that so many people are missing the point of its characterization entirely.
It wasn't warning Chibuzo about anything. It saw Species 19 (the tick) escape the cylinder and distracted her to allow it to go unnoticed. It was betting on that thing killing her, probably.
Its behavior in the Maginot's bridge wasn't evidence of any personal animosity towards the xenomorph or fondness for Zavery. It was trying to calmly manage a dangerous situation by pitching one hostile against another. It knocked Zaveri out as a backup host, and summoned the xenomorph so it could deal with Morrow. And when that didn't work it did what any cornered animal does - it attacked the xenomorph itself, because at that point that was the best chance it had for survival.
The thing is very methodical and careful, because it's so small. It doesn't have any qualms about killing, it just knows not to pick fights it can't win. And it tries to get things bigger than itself to kill one another.
Assuming this isn't another bio-engineered species, between T. Ocellus and those ticks, it almost feels like in the Alien universe, intelligence is actually a fairly common survival tactic for different species across the universe.
Isn't that an interesting premise? Humanity isn't special at all. It's all very Blindsight.
you KICK t.ocellus? you kick her body like the football? oh! oh! jail for Wendy for One Thousand Years!!!
