on a simpler level it’s just kind of nightmarishly disgusting to me that we all reblog like 20 posts a day about the variety and depth of nonbinary identities and potential within questioning but everyone so obviously exclusively brings this acceptance to nonbinary people who were afab, to the point that a lot of people don’t even blink at the “oh yeah he has pronouns but it’s just performative so people think he’s progressive” shtick and just nod along unquestioningly. like this shit is soooo fucking common with so many people suffering from it it’s an absolutely maddening double standard that everyone just pretends doesn’t happen

im not flaming but I’m extremely well aware this happens to nb ppl who were afab. that’s kind of what the post is about; many many people recognize that doing that to them is transphobia, but nobody cares when it’s transfems, if they aren’t celebrating coming down on ~an invasive man~. the fact that nonbinary is even capable of assumed to mean “basically girl but you have to pretend” in of itself demonstrates the extreme erasure of nonbinary transfems to the point of forgetting they can exist, who are very, very, very much not being assumed to “basically be a girl”. there are even nonbinary people who are girls and want to be girls, in fact

before I go though, I do wanna point out how crazy extremely normalized transmisogyny and excusing it is on this website that transfems are literally constantly dealing with harassment, threats, and worse from other users of the site, including trans users, just for existing and annoying the wrong people, getting their blogs deleted without recourse due to transphobic mass reportings; but these open transmisogynists who are literally constantly engaging in and organizing this punitive transphobia and hate against transfems and their allies rarely if ever face any kind of moderation action, and never any lasting consequences or acknowledgment from the rest of the user base. the transmisogynists of this website feel so safe and secure in their transmisogyny that not only do they publicly and happily organize this behavior from their followings, but even celebrate when it comes to fruition and they successfully misgender and scare people away from gender experimentation like 2014 transmeds. because “of course it’s just a man lying about his identity to get away with bigotry, why are you calling me a terf? would a terf say that?😂”

every other day i see otherwise normal, jokey posts with tens of thousands of notes from guys like this and have to not freak out because no one else realizes or cares that op publicly sexually harassed trans women, baselessly called a trans woman a pedophile to an audience of thousands out of irritation with her, or worse.

at what point can we seriously start reckoning with the fact that this website, and it’s non transfem user base, have a serious, dangerous transmisogyny problem and start taking literally any actions to recognize and challenge transmisogyny and stand with trans women for once
