Talis grinned as the kid called back his leafeon. He was visibly shaken, and Talis was loving it. "what's the matter with you? That leafeon still has some fight. Or are you worried about your best Pokémon getting hurt by poison? That is your best, right? I mean none of the others were impressive at all"

"screw you lady!" the kid retorted. "all of my pokemon are poisoned! Or did you forget that?!"

"nope." she said casually. "look if ya ain't gonna battle then fork over my winnings already."

"what is wrong with you?! All of you! You're all so mean! Why?!"

"why?" Talis laughed "cuz it's fun!"

The kid moved to leave but her friends blocked off the exit with an exaggerated tsk tsk. He'd clearly had enough when he grabbed a handful of money and threw it on the ground. Then he pushed past the two, running off.

As soon as he was gone the group erupted into laughter. "dude he was about to cry!" "dude nah I'm sure a second longer and he'd have pissed his pants!" as her friends jeered Talis picked up the discarded money. Part of her did feel bad now that it was over, but she wasn't going to admit that to her friends.

"man, this is hardly anything," she complained. "not that I expected much from a snot nosed brat. Who did he think he is anyway, coming in here and telling us how to be trainers. I kicked his ass with the strategies and statistics he seemed to hate. And, of course, my lovely Stinger. " she said as she petted the drapion affectionately. "Anyway that dumb kid killed my mood so I'm gonna head home."

"Aight Tal, see ya tomorrow?"

Talis slung her backpack over her shoulder. "don't know about that. I've got a test tomorrow and I just know it's gonna wipe the floor with me" like the last one.

"good luck dude," her friend responded. "yeah man if it's anything like last time you're gonna need it"

"thanks for the vote of confidence" she stated sarcastically with an eye roll. "later"
