âWhy do people hate Hey Violet?â
I see a lot of posts trying to âdragâ 5sos for some stupid ignorant shit they said in their past, but I wanna know, how come no one is talking about the shit that Hey Violet are doing right now?
I mean, people know about what they did to Julia but they seem to excuse it for being âjust rumors, let it go it was so long agoâ (even though it was 3 years ago, not 10) theyâre to far up 5sosâ ass to see the truth or theyâre really desperate for girls in the rock genre and they have to settle for this.
Anyway, how come no one is talking about how HV glorify abusive relationships? For fuckâs sake, they have a song called "Make Upâ in which they make it known that they love and think itâs cool to be in that kind of relationship. A bunch of 17-19 year oldâs are singing to young impressionable people about how cool it is to be in an abusive relationship.
I see people get pissed at 5sos for their lyric âIâm stuck in the friend zone againâ but no one talks about how a 17 yr old Rena is singing âyou know it turns me on to hate youâŚcome on lets wake up the neighborsâŚall of a sudden you break chicks for the make upâ this whole song is about glorifying abusive relationships. And to top that, Nia has a matching tattoo with her boyfriend paying homage to Veronica and JDâs psychotic relationship in the movie âHeathersâ
and iâm pretty sure not that long ago she was talking about dressing up as Sid and Nancy for Halloween.
Also, I see a lot of people trying to defend Rena because sheâs appropriating a culture by saying that her dreads are, âjust a hairstyle, a bunch of other white people have them, you guys are just searching for excuses to hate on them..etc.â
Okay, so most of the people that defend her with those BS excuses are white, so with that being said, your opinion is INVALID. So many people have told her why they are uncomfortable with her wearing dreads (both from that culture and from different cultures.) Theyâve given her multiple chances to explain herself and she just walks away from the situation. Y'all wanna know why? Because her explanation on why she has them is not because she appreciates the culture or she has a lot of hair or curly hair so itâs easier to maintain, NO, itâs because she doesnât want to feel like she sold out. Itâs a statement with her. Back when they were Cherri Bomb, in almost every interview they would ask her about her hair (not her bass skills) and the reason why she has them. Interviewers would say âthey look super cool on youâ and sheâd say, âyeah, my mom has had dreads for a long time and one day she just asked me if I wanted some and I said sure.â
Cultural Appropriation is âthe adoption or use of elements of one culture by a member or members of a different culture. Cultural appropriation may eventually lead to the imitating group being seen as the new face of said cultural practices.â
Now, all these HV stans who keep saying "loads of other white people have dreadsâ  Yeah, we knowâŚbut you know what? At least their dreads ARE FUCKING REAL. Rena canât even commit to the actual dreads. She braids them in. Her and her momma (Ana) both wear FAKE DREADS.
And if you ask me these look v similar to the Rastafarian colorsâŚ
Sheâs toying with people because she gets off on people talking about her, whether is good or bad, she doesnât care. The way I see it, the Lovelis clan wants to be the alternative version of what the Kardashian/Jenner clan have built. Theyâre royalty when it comes to reality tv stars and being âfamous for being famousâ⌠Like Kylie, Rena loves to be the controversial one.
As far as people saying that they trust 5sosâs judgement and thatâs why the hv fans disregard everything hv has/is doingâŚ5sos either had no say in picking the band they had to sign or 5sos made this decision the same way they chose âAmnesiaâ
As you can see they didnât really pay attention the first time they heard it. They just said âyeah, weâll get this songâ ⌠and when they heard it again, they were happy they made the right decision bc it was actually a good song. So basically they saw 3 girls (and they know that the rock genre needs more girls) that can hold instruments, probably saw the resume they had as CB and they didnât pay much attention to their playing and signed them bc they needed to sign something to Hi or Hey, since theyâve had it for awhileâŚ
These are a few reasons why I get so pissed every time I see people trying to make them the victim in this situation. Saying that theyâre an amazing band with good music and they are super duper sweet and they call the fans beautiful and theyâre grateful and blah fucking blah. Whether theyâre talented or not, that comes down to opinion. I see no promise in this band anymore. There is no genuine love and passion behind this band anymore. This is my opinion.
Hv fans that keep saying âHV love their fansâ after meeting them for 5 minutes at meet and greets, shake their hands, take pics with them, etc. Yeah, HV âlove their fansâ so much that they (or Rena) gave them a DM on twitter and allowed them to express their concerns on her dreads, and gave her the opportunity to explain herself only to leave the convo and then RT and Favorite multiple tweets (of mostly white HV fans) where they were defending her actions stating that âpoc need to get over it, its just a hairstyle.â And that Rena needs to âeducate her fansâ when in reality she needs to educate herself.
Basically all these HV stans are saying that the white girl that gets everything handed to her needs to educate all the poc about their struggles; their history. I mean, shit, if she and her fans think that the problem is just bc of the hairstyle, then they really are ignorant. Itâs not just a hairstyle itâs the history that comes with it. And thatâs what people donât get. Iâm not from this culture, but Iâm not white either. I know what it feels like to be discriminated against bc of the color of my skin. Rena gets to parade around with her FAKE dreads and gets called âcool-bad-ass-trendy-hair goalsâ while people like Zendaya get called basically cheap and âsmells of weed and patchouli oil.â The only explanations Rena has EVER given were:

**I see that people constantly ask licktheass-tonirwin about the Ian Watkins situation and well I found this gem (this time I took a screenshot since Nia will probs read this and if I link it out she will delete it like in my last submission to Maggie.)
Anyway, this was asked during the time Rena was defending Ian on her twitter and it created a shit storm bc of Ianâs molestation accusations. Nia answered the question, which I just found distasteful. (Someone making a rape joke and all she had to say was âhahaha.â)
For people who still donât see whatâs wrong with these girls and their situation, let me put it in a different perspective.
If this was handled like a real court case and Maggie was Juliaâs attorney and she brought all this âcircumstantialâ evidence plus her witnesses (âclose sourcesâ) and the video where they stated their future offense⌠these girls would be in jail already.
Like, letâs say the case was a âmurder caseâ (they murdered her dream, lol) and youâre trying to prove that the HV girls did it. With the evidence and witnesses you have you would have a case to bring to trial. In the jury, (like in reality, the majority agreed with Maggieâs post.) The jury would side with her and find them guilty. But the HV stans would want to appeal the case and get them out of jail. They represent all the people in real life that defend killers, rapists, molesters, sex offenders, and any other habitual crimes that criminals commit. And once they get them out they commit another crime again.
Like the real life case of OJ Simpson. We all know he committed the crime but the defense was that âthe glove did not fit.â Look, the glove fit enough for him to commit the fucking crime and not leave any fingerprints. Plus he was a repeat offender. There were multiple times where the cops were called bc of spousal abuse. But people loved him so much bc he was a famous athlete with multiple awards, so even though there was all this evidence, circumstantial or not, and there was record of him beating up his wife, there was still people blind enough to believe he didnât kill Nichole and her alleged lover. Then he was a free man for years and I believe he even wrote a book entitled âIf I Did Itâ explaining how he would have done it, IF he would have done it. Sounds like the video where Miranda says âIf we ever broke upâŚâ
All those HV stans who keep making BS excuses for them sound like the people who said âbut the glove did not fitâ and they will be the reason why they will get away with murder, again. (Hypothetically speaking)
Alright this rant went longer than expected but it just pisses me off when people still believe in them bc theyâre associated with 5sos. But honestly fuck 5sos, I love them, but fuck them.
Iâve known the girls long enough to know theyâre not good people.
I mean, I was a huge Cherri Bomb fan, they even followed me on twitter but then Rena unfollowed me bc i stated my opinion on the departure. And I feel for Julia bc Iâve been bullied before and for her to go through this for more than a few months -being isolated and mistreated by her so called friends and at the same time have her dream ripped apart right before her eyes, I feel it in a personal level.
And I will not allow my love for 5sosâs music dictate how I feel about the girls and make me blind to all the shit theyâve done and are doing.
