kinda exhausted seeing all of these posts that are supposedly in favor of transfem ralsei, but include things like "ralsei becomes The Girl" and/or "lancer becomes The Prince Alone In Deepest Dark"

like; one of the things coming out as a trans woman does is let one break free of the prison of masculinity.

in this instance, the prison is represented in a broader sense by the prophecy itself.

the only conclusion i can reach is that the people talking about how ralsei's potential transition won't free her, or anyone, of the prophecy, somehow missed the part where

the prophecy is evil

we do not want the prophecy to happen

we are actively trying to break off the predetermined path fate has decided for us

i think maybe one of the most tragic things about ralsei is that she is explicitly NOT an egg. like, it really seems like she has no problem imagining that she might not be a man. her problem lies in letting herself be something else.

i can understand all of the multigender/bigender/genderfluid/whatever headcanons for ralsei. there is textual evidence for that. i would, however appreciate if the people headcanoning this could look deeper into the subtext of these scenes?

was her saying that she could be a prince if kris wanted her to be her saying that she was genderfluid, or was she saying that to further herself by immediately submitting herself to whatever kris wanted?

was she ‘comfortable’ in her masculinity before any of this happened, just by reading into the subtext a little bit?

and although i doubt anyone who actually believes in these headcanons will try the next one,

why are you headcanoning her as this? why are you believing so hard that ralsei, the character who is commonly portrayed as being forced into a masculine role, who is heavily hinted at being a trans girl, beloved by transfems for encapsulating their feelings, as something that isn’t a trans girl?

genuinely, why can’t you just let her be a woman?
