sure I didn’t do any writing here today but I DID watch another episode of doctor who so I’ll call that a win

#I started a few months ago #then I got distracted and forget about it #BUT IM BACK #♱ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀— ⠀ ⠀ ⠀݁﹝ ⠀ooc. ⠀﹞#How much do I have to watch before I can make a blog :/

ok wow this is going to be so embarrassing for me but I was playing botw last night and then I started thinking about zelda and buffy and how they are? very similar in a lot of aspects? one of the major things I see is how both of them have a destiny forced upon them. zelda wants to read and study ruins and explore, but she’s forced to pray and practice so that she may unlock her sealing powers and use it to defend the kingdom against calamity ganon. buffy on the other hands wants to be a normal girl who shops and dates and goes to school, but a lot of that is put on hold because she has to constantly defend everyone against the forces of evil. both are extremely disheartened by their prophecies and the fact that it limits them from doing what they want to do. they seem to have no other future in sight besides what is required of them. both of them also deal with extreme amounts of guilt as well as feelings of inadequacy. zelda sees her kingdom laid to waste because of what she believes to be her inability to protect it, and so she basically sacrifices herself in order to contain ganon. in s5 buffy has to deal with the fact that despite all of her efforts, dawn is still captured by glory, which ends up with her sacrificing herself in dawn’s place. their guilt leads them both to performing pricey actions in an attempt to atone for their mistakes.

#ok i am continuing in tags because brain is not working #both of them have to give up friends and their interests in order to accept their responsiblity #*responsibility #rhoam was upset with zelda for not taking her duty more seriously and instead going of to perform experiments blah blah #which was LITERALLY the way giles acted when buffy came in saying she was joining the cheer squad or that she was going to go on a date #both of them are very strong #and headfast and stubborn #both are independent and don't like having to answer to someone else besides themselves #both don't like to accept help because it seems to amplify their own failures #both often internalize their emotions until they reach a Breaking point and everything just comes out #no because both will Literally let themselves be tortured by their emotions instead of ever truly admitting it #also . a lot of self loathing #like a LOT #constantly worried whether they are enough to lead and protect everyone else #constantly worried because everyone relies on them and they don't know if they can be what they must #AHHHBHB FEHBFHEBF #ok i'm going to stop #but i love them both a lot i think they are awesome #♱ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀— ⠀ ⠀ ⠀݁﹝ ⠀INTROSPECTION. ⠀﹞
