all color picked/referenced from actual selfies i took ages 10-12. i am a bit nervous to post this but i know that i am very much not alone in this experience. to be given positive sexual attention when you are so insecure about your body at this young age... i knew i wasn't supposed to be sending nudes to anyone, but the attention was so addicting that i did anyway.

it's hard to allow myself to categorize this as trauma or abuse or coercion when i played such an active role at the time. i would search out shady chat sites and lie about my age to people who i knew had untoward intentions because the praise and attention was such a powerful feeling. it made me feel so special when adults told me i looked older than i was, that i was "already so sexy" even though i was so young.

i can only remember the people who exuded kindness and patience with me and made me feel like everything was on my terms, and blocking anyone who made me genuinely uncomfortable, so was it really that wrong? i could have said no. i could have just blocked them, it was only all online after all. there was no danger in closing the chat window, but i did it all anyway. so aren't i the one responsible?

obviously, no, i was a child, and it was the responsibility of the adults to not fucking groom a child and ask for nudes from a child. but still. it's something i struggle with a lot. even now, the only things i feel when i think about these interactions are mild shame and guilt on my end, not anger or resentment towards the adults involved. mostly, it just makes me feel very empty.

i was just compelled to draw this because i thought the visuals would be cool (they are, i'm very proud of this) and because it's a topic i've been wanting to explore in my art for a long time. i hope it makes someone feel less alone.

A few weeks ago, I told someone about a notorious bully who went to my school. He was racist, sexist, homophobic, and just an awful person among other things. I don’t doubt he was going through some shit, but does that excuse his actions and words? No. I also said *nothing* about his gender. Nothing.

That person then replied with “Get that boy some estrogen. Don’t be too mean, he could just be transfemme.”

This guy encouraged people to kill themselves. But suddenly, the possibility that he might be transfemme makes him immune to accountability?

Whatever you say, girlie. I forgot to sit down and shut up on this one. My bad.

Another random rant, but the amount of fur products like tails geared toward therians I've seen for sale lately that are labeled as faux fur but are very clearly real fur is infuriating. I get it when it's someone that just has a random tail on Depop and it was a gift or something they aren't that interested in, but I'm seeing TONS of "therian gear" shops pop up all of a sudden selling real farmed tails as faux fur. And so many people posting their tail hauls saying/believing they're fake fur when they definitely aren't. Even if it's an unnatural color, if it looks super real there's a 99% chance it's a real taxidermy tail dyed a fun color! The stores/sites you wouldn't expect to have taxidermy because they're seemingly too cheap (like amazon/temu) ARE selling farmed taxidermy as faux fur too. If it has a thin leather strip in the center that the fur is coming from and no other fabric except that, it is taxidermy.

Editing to add some more easy identifiers- if the tail has a cylindrical cap typed thing at the top with a clip attached, it's real taxidermy! Those are specifically made for taxidermy tails and wouldn't be able to be used on a faux tail.
