What's with the commission bots going around?

kept seeing a lot of bots commenting on people's art asking the artist to DM them if they're open for commissions (which, shouldn't be the other way around..-) and I'm more curious as to what these bots do after you dm them? Do they send you a fake link to track your IP? do they send money then file a charge back on your PayPal to be a dick? I wonder.
