The pay was better, Clint would readily admit that, and that was admittedly the reason that he’d managed to buy the apartment and save his neighbors from eviction. Or at least part of the reason, anyway— but he did hope that things went smoothly. He and Bobbi and been the ones to help establish the West Coast Avengers, it would be a shame to see it fall apart.
Clint forced himself not to grin as she reached for the ice cream and he grabbed for the pizza. Some habits never changed. He reached over and swiped a finger through her ice cream just because and hummed around it before smiling.
”You’re really easy to bribe, for the record, I barely had to beg at all.” What that says about his ego is anyone’s guess.
His tone softens. “But I’m glad you came. You’re welcome to get some rest here too, after you eat. You look like you might need it.” She was beautiful, but she looked drained, there was no fooling him on that. He could still read her, even after so long.
(He’d needed to learn, with the incident. He tried not to think about that.)
She scowled at him sticking his grubby finger into her damn ice cream. Bobbi pointed her spoon threateningly at him before digging into the delicious frozen treat. At the same time she stepped on the back of her shoes to pull off shoe and sock. If she was going to be here a while she might as well get comfortable.
The spoon was stuck into her mouth and she moaned around it, savouring the taste after such a long, crappy day. She was also fully aware of what she was doing. Bobbi finished the spoonful and licked it clean so she could dig another scoop out for herself.
"Close your mouth, Barton," she teased before giving a shrug of her shoulders. "I probably won't stay. I do have a place of my own." Bobbi continued to dig into the carton of ice cream, taking her good, sweet time with it. Staying was a bad idea. This alone was probably a bad idea.
