and may I add to my last post that this whole deal will go under the bus because its Masters week, so yay for a men’s tournament that hasn’t happened yet overshadow a women’s event (and a freaking major by the way) that needs to be talked about...gotta love that right?

ANA Inspiration Ramblings

I understand the rule that is ‘outsiders’ being able to call (where is the number or place to email? that very thought intrigues me) must be put into play if someone does it because it is the rule but, the rule shouldn’t even be an actual rule. Someone who isn’t a rules official should not be allowed to officiate a tournament. Period.

Golf is a game of honesty and integrity, having the ability to call oneself out of rule breaking. And mostly every professional on the PGA or LPGA is where they are today not only because of their incredible talent and dedication, but because they have those said traits.

So, a rules official or player that finds themselves breaking the rules by accident and calls it out, then go ahead, assess what needs to be assessed.

But, what irks me (and the rest of the whole golfing world) is that someone who isn’t those two types of people can actually call out something a day later.

Its like someone calling in once the Superbowl is over and telling the referees that no, the guy’s foot wasn’t actually in the endzone by a half an inch and the referees actually responding to it and that team loses the thing they’ve been working towards all season, their whole lives.

So, anyways, the rule just needs to be changed so this wouldn’t have even happened in the first place. Both Lexi Thompson and So Yeon Ru were incredibly classy and played amazing this week. And props to Lexi for handling it the way she did. I think this will definitely make her stronger, almost reminiscent of DJ losing the PGA Championship and then winning a U.S. Open a few years later.

Congratulations to So Yeon Ru! Thompson and Ryu were definitely both winners this week.

Pro golfers like Inbee Park and Lydia Ko prove over and over again that you don’t need to be long to win. All it takes is determination and dedication to go out there and give it your all. And an awesome short game.

such an amazing performance from DJ, and it was so awesome to see him come through, especially from all the heartbreaks he's had. It's so good to see him finally win a major championship. All I can keep saying is congrats and congrats💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

If you’re gonna assess the penalty–do it. Don’t make a guy wait till after the round…and then also telling him he’s lost the US Open by one shot :/ not to mention the greens are so fast that anything could move it!

yeah! it's looming in his head as he's playing the rest of his round--maybe one of the most IMPORTANT rounds of his life. And the uncertainty and doubt is now causing him to not play like he has his entire round--and its been evident so far. I really just hope he can do the best he can to push it out of his mind and make some more birdies hopefully. It looked like to me that the ball didn't move because of DJ's putter--the greens are so fast you would expect the ball to roll somehow without someone moving it...but yes. Really rooting for DJ, have been this entire week, but even more so now.
