Or maybe it’s the fact that she, despite thinking him so inade- quate, hasn’t gone off to find another damn teacher. “Obviously,” he says, pinching the bridge of his nose, “you’re too full of yourself to take any advice I give. So how about this: show me some LIGHTNING, and I’ll admit you’re a better bender than I am. Go ahead.” His brow lifts, hand gesturing towards her with an air of conceit. And he smiles, thinly. “I’ll wait.”
❝ I'M full of myself? why you-- ❞ she was cut off by his challenging words. they demanding more of her than she could give, and he knew that. it was precisely the reason why he said them. the sly devil. ❝ i... can't. ❞ not being able to produce lightning had been her biggest block as a firebender. she could do everything else, at least in her own opinion, so what was stopping her? she should be able to do it. what was wrong with her?

sanctuary? korra couldn't fight back the look of concern that spread upon her face. where ever this place was, it was obviously very religious-- and that wasn't a good sign for someone such as the avatar. should they disagree with her opinions of peace and meditation, she could end up back on the streets. she'd had enough of sleeping in alleyways for the time being. it was best that she kept her "religion", and avatar abilities, to herself. ❝ yeah... it's "shelter i seek". ❞ she tried to mimic the man'd voice, adding a bit of light humor to the words. she may be able to hide her gifts, but her sarcasm was something that couldn't be controlled.
