The moment his arms opened for her, Lily walked straight into them. Her forehead rest against his chest as her arms wrapped around his waist. She did her best to hold back tears. She was once again in his arms. It was a feeling she had missed a lot; being held by Don. She let out a soft sigh. She felt like she was home again. “I missed you so much Don. I waited and hoped you’d come back and you did.”

“To be fair, I’m pretty you came to my house,” he joked with a soft laugh as he nuzzled his nose to her hair. “Take the day off with me.” It was meant to be a proposition but it came out like an order, though she had complete freedom to say no to him. “Welcome me home..”

Lily bites down on her lip to keep back the rest of her sobs and she looks up at Don with watery eyes as he commanded her attention. Part of her anger towards Logan faded slightly upon hearing that he and his men were responsible for what happened to her. Had Lily been there, she would have urged Don to save her. Lily still harbored resentment towards the girl for the way she treated her and she knows that resentment wouldn’t be easily pushed aside and forgotten.

Don’s final words softened her heart even more. He was willing to do something she knew he wouldn’t want, for Lily, just to appease her. The thought of an eternity with him was something she desired along with the strength that came with it, so she could protect Don better.

“Will you really give it to me?” She whispered. She was ready for that life with him. “I love you, Don. I will wait for the right time to ask you to give me eternity with you.” She closes her eyes and lowers her head, her once pixie cut now longer, hid her face and showed just how long he had been away when he left. She didn’t know what she else to say. She lost his trust and she knew that well.

“Yes, I will. You have my word. When the time is right and when you’re ready... I will. But you have to start trusting me and listening to me. I don’t expect you to obey me like Logan and Ben, you’re not just my junior... You’re also my partner. We don’t have to talk about the fine print right now but can we at least bury this argument? I miss you. Come back to me.”

Truth be told, though he hid it well, Don’s heart sank fast at the thought of turning her. A life of eternity, and eternal damnation, was not what he wanted for her. He knew the loss she had experienced in her life, but there would be so much more to come that he couldn’t ready her for. And how would he explain this to Ben? His younger brother wanted to be just like him, and at this rate Don would end up giving in to him too. Part of the thought enticed him, the four of them having their own empire. He couldn’t blame Lily for doing this for the same reasons he did; For love.

He opened his arms to her, not ready to comprehend the challenge he accepted but just wanting her near. His eyes brimmed with tears at the unwanted emotion, but he would never let them fall.

Lily’s tears fell down her cheeks as she stared at Don. She could see he was angry. Of course he was. She didn’t blame him. She bit her lip hard so she wouldn’t sob as he reprimanded her. His words took the air out of her and she stopped breathing for a few seconds. Finally she was able to let her thoughts process.

“I don’t want monuments…i just want you…” She whispers softly as a sudden sob managed to escape her lips. “But if I you’re saying it’s not enough…do you..you don’t want me anymore?” She was ready to run. She stood there, preparing herself to be hurt. If he didn’t want her she would leave and disappear for good. Anything he did would be enough for her but he wouldn’t believe anything she said now…so she stayed silent.

Momentary comfort was found in hearing her say that she just wanted him, but a part of him didn’t believe her.

“Listen to me,” he hissed, “you need to listen. I didn't say that it wasn’t enough for me... I’m saying it’s not enough for you, baby. I love you. I love you. I love you.” Every time he repeated the phrase he moved closer to her. “You know that, but I cannot change the things I’ve done and I cannot change who I am. I have a fledgling who was seconds away from death by the hands of MY men and she begged me to save her... You don’t know how hard it was for me to say yes, but I owed her that. She was innocent. If you want... This life... I’ll give it to you. If that will prove to you that I love you, baby, I’ll do it. Is that what you want from me? Will that make you trust me?”

sae didn’t really care to give an extensive explanation as to why she was there. she only said one this. “there is nothing wrong with a ninja sleeping out in the nature.naruto was sleeping out in the nature as well occasionally.” she dismissed that subject fast. seeing as he was already answering her next question , her attempt was successful. “oooo a zoologist! that’s promising. taking photos quietly studying how they live. how many days will you devote to this?” was she curious? yes. why? because it sounded like a good way to also kill some of the abundant time she had ahead of her. 

A soft breeze caused stray hair to blow across his face as he came to the solid and unwavering conclusion this poor girl was crazy. Did she really just say ninja? He had no idea who naruto was and he didn’t care to know. He would simply play along, answer any and all questions, then be on his way. August was like that, ever flowing with whatever came his way. 

“Well I can’t stay out here overnight, I didn’t bring the gear to camp, so I’ll stay a few more hours at most. If I had my camping gear... Maybe 3 days. The longer you’re here the more you’ll see.”

❝ mm. ❞  stella gives him a nod followed by a wide smile. it was one of her favourite past times, given her parents were moguls in the fashion industry and she had a keen eye for things like that. her eyes widen when she’s bombarded with questions and only lets out a giggle.  ❝ oh, yay! ❞  she points to the laptop she had laying on the side, motioning for her to bring it over.  ❝ okay, let’s get started! and of course i’ll get them to start making us some food. ❞  stella motions over to send orders to her lovely majordomo so that their food could come to them as soon as possible.  ❝ well, this is going to be fun! ❞

Apollo let his thoughts wander for a moment as he looked at her smiling. She was truly a sight to behold, and a wonderful companion at almost all times, but he would be lying to say the thought of trying to make more of the relationship hadn’t crossed his mind. Even when she was ill, Stella was stunning. “Hm? Fun, you say? We’ll see.” A smug smile crossed his lips. “Only if you promise to eat some of the soup. I don’t want soup. Soup is for sick people.”

Lily stepped into his home. It had been a long time since she had been there. She took her shoes off and closed the door behind her. She stood awkwardly in the living room as she watched Don pacing through his home. She didn’t follow him around and stayed in the living room.

“I’m sorry Don. I was being a brat. I was just so hurt but i shouldn’t have shut you out like that. I…i missed you…so much.” She covered her mouth after when she felt her eyes welling up with tears. She didn’t want to show weakness.

Silence. Don just stood there, still has the air around him, and looked at her with puzzled eyes. Part of him wanted to run to her, embrace her, tell her she was forgiven and that this could never happen again. But his pride and arrogance told him to stay angry, make her beg to be forgiven, make her feel twice the pain and anguish he had felt over all those days. In the long silence he fought an internal battle between the two options.

“You missed me, but you stayed away anyway. How easy would have an apology been 12 days ago? Or better yet that same night? What makes you apologize now?” He chose a third option as his emotions mixed together and he showed everything. “I am in love with you. I would build monuments and move mountains for you.... That’s not going to be enough, is it?”

Lily awoke to a dark room. She was sure it was already morning. She checked her phone and sure enough it was. She got out of bed and got ready for work. As she drank her coffee, dressed in a designer and form fitting pant suit paired with heels, she looked out at the gloomy day. It reminded her of the times Don and her would have a day in on days like this. It had been so long since she had seen him. She was letting her stubbornness get in the way of being together with him. She places her coffee cup down and leaves her apartment.

Once at work she went straight to Mino. Without even a morning greeting she began asking him if Don had been busy. “Is he with someone right now? I need to speak with him.”

Lily walked into the parking lot and got into her car. Mino has let her know Don hadn’t come into work today and had ordered everyone to stay away. Lily of course didn’t care about his threats. She put her car into drive and drove straight to Don’s villa.

Standing at his door now it was taking a lot for Lily to admit defeat and apologize for the way she had been acting. It wasn’t until she felt the rain falling on her did she come to her senses and head up to the door. She rang the doorbell and knocked hard.

Don was already at the door by the time she knocked. He had been standing there from the moment she parked, waiting and listening. He wanted to be mad but he wanted to hold her, he wanted to yell at her but he wanted to kiss her. She had to have known he was alone.

Before she could finish knocking he opened the door slowly. Usually he was the one dressed to impress, but he was still in pajama bottoms with no shirt. His hair was a mess, he hadn’t even tried.

Don didn’t tell her to come in, he didn’t have to, he left the door open behind him and walked back into his home. So many words were on the tip of his tongue but nothing would come out. He just kept walking away from her. He walked into the kitchen, into the dining area, through the living room and back into the kitchen.
