Something else I noticed is the number used, none of the examples has a zero in it.

I just tried it with a number containing a zero. You keep the same rules. biggest to smallest diguts for the top number, smallest to biggest digits for the second. Subtract the second number from the first. It still comes out!

3021 becomes 3210-123= 3087.

3087 becomes 8730-378= 8352

8352 becomes 8532-2358= 6174

Would love to see someone break down the math and relationships of this. I'd love to see the math on the cut proportions too.
