pretty sure the shadowban myth spread to stop people from tagging them with tags that people block, as to get the most eyes on them.

See I'm genuinely thinking someone started it maliciously at this point too. None of it makes any sense.

You are literally getting less attention if you don't initially tag your post as donations or mutual aid, as it makes it hard for people who want to reblog and donate to find your post.

im either thinking.

a. someone thought those fake dog donation blogs were real & thought tumblr taking them down meant that they were taking down all donation posts.

b. someone with a donation post got taken down for something unrelated & thought they got taken down for their donation post.

c. someone was being malicious and didn’t want those posts getting attention

as you can see posts show up in the search function perfectly fine.

former staff have confirmed that they have never shadowbanned.
