Editorial Inspired by two deities of Candomblé: Iansã (Goddess of the Niger river, wind, and storm lady) and Oshun (the queen of fresh water, who owns the rivers and waterfalls).

Candomblé is a cult or syncretic religion from Africa that was brought to Brazil by slaves.

“The editorial was shot in the waterfall on the South Coast of São Paulo, a place of lush beauty and a perfect location for the proposed work. What motivated me to portray this theme was precisely the lack of similar studies in the media and, why not say it, the prejudice generated around religions of African origins. Brazil is a large multi-racial country with diverse cultures and influences, which we all are proud of however we still live in times of segregation and intolerance… With this work, I hope to show the strength of diversity, that everyone deserves their space and respect, and that the culture and African beauty are as important as any other.”Says the photographer.
