holds you gently by the shoulders hey so imagine donnie in the apocalypse who used to hide when he’d have his meltdowns suddenly unable to and they happen more than they ever have because. apocalypse. and his family never really knew how to handle them before (because they’re undereducated in neurodivgence) and especially now, and everyones stressed so they’re all just kinda lashing out at each other. April’s always been the best but that reminder just makes him feel even further divided from his brothers. so he tries masking more which just causes a vicious cycle. but eventually they slowly get better at it, maybe eventually meet people who do know what autism is. and it’d probably be so validating for him because for years he’s just. coped worse. and he never knew why he was like this. and over time they all get better at helping him.

then in the main timeline post invasion p!donnie he just feels really shitty and ashamed and guilty about how often they’ve been happening because there’s no reason for him to be coping this badly in comparison. and it just seems like everyones attempts to help make it worse. but then the f!timeline peeps start showing up and know what to do and are significantly more understanding about it. like just imagine a f!leo being sooo patient and actually knowing how to help and donnie being. confused. because leo’s usual method of trying to help is to to try and make him laugh or distract him which just makes it. Worse. or f!raph who manages to help him calm down without making him feel like he’s being babied (because he worked through that Issue with his Donnie eventually). who encourages him to move around because he knows that helps. and then when f!donnie gets there he finally has someone who like. really gets it. and I think it’d be healing for both of them and they deserve it. because for so long nobody really Got It. and it’s the first time he feels understood and like there’s not just something Wrong with him.
