I was trying to figure out what skin shade I wanted Leo to have, when going through some Leo designs and sketches, and just for funsies I doodled a tattoo pattern and then was like 'lol he already had one, this wouldn't suit him anyway.' But then I realized it could low key totally be Mikey, as I hadn't had a design for him yet.

The splotchy skin came from me having a hard time deciding the shades and then just being like bruh fine have all of them

And then absolutely loving it because it looks so cute on mikey

Lavender Grief Leo #3

I figured out his tattoos here. I took some inspo from the bayverse tattoos leo had in one of the movies cause I was struggling to figure out what I wanted him to have.

Also, some leo lore- in this au, he was raised completely seperate from his brothers, by several good magic practicing witches, and he had a really good, well rounded childhood with good parents and a good relationship with his parents. Thus, he's very emotionally mature, very kind, very laid back. He still meditates and loves tea, but since he ain't gotta lead anyone, hes just a really calm, chill guy lol.

I took a bit of inspo from bay verse leo's tattoos since I was drawing blanks trying to figure out what to put on him.

I tried out some straight line tattoos, because originally I was just gonna have LG donnie give him his tattoos himself, and I dont think donnie would have nearly as much artistic talent as April and would be only kind of good at drawing perfect generic shapes, but geometric tattoos just didnt really suit leo, I feel like he'd have something more traditional, so....

Also I was struggling to figure out leos body type but ended up deciding i want him to be short and a little clunky/chunky/opposite of scrawny idk what its called i just figured out his body type.

i was struggling a lot to color in the last one, though, as it scanned weird in my art scanner and her skin literally came out all charchoal colored and i had to find a way to like re-do all the linart and coloring while keeping as much of the original texture as i could.

fun fact, if I recall correctly, I drew this just before shit hit the fan in my life last year, and I was in an incredibly unhealthy mental state and struggling with some addiction problems. I think that bled out into my art a bit; I guess it's interesting to see, at least to me personally?

I just remember feeling shitty while drawing this.

I feel shitty now, while writing this, lol, but i am no longer struggling with the same problems at least

I especially like these ones. I made him a bit taller in them and I ended up liking it and deciding to run with him being lanky and tall as hell

The last panel, he's talking to a character i actually plan to introduce in the second book or part to the series or whatever if I make it way in the future. Would take a long time to explain though and it's still in the drafts so idk
