Teaching needs to target finding a way to help students get the best education possible rather than the best test grades.
IN CONCLUSION
THEIR SIDE
These tests are the most efficient way to see if schools are doing their job.
MY SIDE
Too much focus on tests is causing us, students, to not learn the information.
Two sides to every story.
This is what we take to be good; that is what they take to be good.
Kwame Anthony Appiah
The 2015 PDK/Gallup survey finds that the public has become more disillusioned with testing but is split on parents opting out.
Standardized test are a great asset to the education standards of the government, but not so much to the students that have to take the test.
So what's the point?
1: Giving everyone the education they need to benefit everyone's future.
2: To ensure the required government tests are passed at the end of the school year.
3: Helping the school receive grants from the student's performance.
Memorization is better than an education
no one ever
school district gives required teaching guideline----> teacher make students remember everything from district
With the kind of education, schools are providing today, students are becoming good at memorization rather than receiving the knowledge.
Schools feed students all kinds of things in hopes of improving their test results
LETS GET SOME NUMBERS
There are roughly 3.2 MILLION teachers today in the US
13 out of 50 states require standardized testing in order to get your diploma
